How Many Issues Can You Pray For While You Fast?

Recently I did a water fast and was wondering while doing the fast if it is right or wrong to pray for more than one issue during the water fast. I spoke with several people asking their opinion and got several different answers of what they believed to be correct. In your opinion which would be the right was to pray while fasting, praying for only one issue during a fast or several issues at once?

Hey RDotson, I believe you can pray freely. God loves to be part of our lives and involving him in everything gives him rule of all your situations. Allow him to be part of the bog and small things is to me great yet very important. I have fast before and wow I use to pray for hours at a time . And I still do today without fasting just when I did. Fasting is like action of surrender and showing that you give-up all you present your body as a living sacrifice so God may have legal access in the Earth reem. Fasting is a beatiful thing, and to me very important especially if you are building a relationship Between you and God. To me pray for and about everything. I'm sure God is all ears to listen. And I'm sure he will take action.

I did pray for more that one issue during the time of my fast and each and everything I prayed for is coming to pass! I plan to do another water fast in another week or so but right now I am just enjoying the blessings that have been brought upon me and my family!

Well, I don't know what religion you are, but fasting makes no sense to me! Where does it say in the bible that anyone should go without eating? And why would fasting have anything to do with praying. Religion is a Grand Scam for the purpose of collecting money, and By God its one of the best ever devised! More people have been tortured and killed over, and for the sake of religion than anything ever invented. Christianity has had 2000 years to make a difference and has failed miserably!

Sure I will look it up! I'm wondering if you really do know where it is located in the Bible?

barehugs, I did not post this to enter into a argument with you... I chose to do a water fast because I wanted to. In the bible it states "WHEN" we fast not "IF" we fast, it also spoke of Jesus doing a 40 day fast and we are supposed to become Christ like. It also states of Daniel fasting in the book of Daniel. The Bible speaks of Hannah going without food and fasting in the book of Samuel 1... look it up if you would like but I will no longer argue with you on this point. You can believe how you would like, and I will believe how I would like...

Thank you for sharing your opinion, but I also have mine and I will continue to keep the faith. I believe in God I am a Christian, and I have been blessed many times due to my faith in Christ. It actually does state in the bible that we are to fast, look it up if you would like.

That's an interesting question! I've wondered that myself some times! But then I've thought I would focus on the one prayer I am fasting for but I don't limit myself to one prayer any other day or space of time, so I don't want to neglect my other prayers! What if someone needs my prayer and I ignore the urging?

while praying God is there to hear your prayer always. if something not solved by prayer alone, you may pray with fasting, keeping soul fresh. ask seek knock should be your principle

Interesting..I don't know anyone who does a water fast. How long do you go without food? Are you able to go about your normal activities while fasting? As for your question I don't go on water fasts, but wonder why there would be a quetion of how many issues one can pray for? I would think it doesn't matter. God would be 'fine' with your thinking of one or many issues.
