I actually have not seen the movie yet lol. My sister was mentioning the movie to me a year ago and when I heard that it was based on a book with the same title by Nicholas Sparks I was not too excited to see it. I actually did not like the movie Notebook that much. I can't help but feel sorry for the guy that the girl left to be with Ryan Gosling's character.
I stumbled on the movie soundtrack of Dear John because it has one of my favorite artist, Joshua Radin and I could not help but to think that if the soundtrack is this great then the movie maybe great too. I have been seeing like 30 second clips of the movie in youtube and I'm swooning haha. Have you seen the movie? Is it worth watching?

i have seen the movie and I was in love with it. I was in the middle of reading the book when my boyfriend borrowed the movie from his sister and spoiled me with it. I love the book and the movie was awesome as well. But then again I am a huge nicolas sparks fan and I loved the notebook as well

My husband and I like Nicholas Sparks writings and in turn the movies that have been based on his books. But we absolutely did not like this movie. We were very disappointed with it. Like you said it really made no since for her to leave him for the other character.It did not even fit right, her age/his age and the reasoning she gave behind it. It was diffinitely a waste of our time to watch it. We were highly disappointed. If I were you I wouldn't waste your time. Especially if you didn't like the notebook you won't like this one.

That's really a good movie I can say.
Thu, it's not as touchy as "THE NOTEBOOK" but the story is not bad.
The story is worth watching for esp when you really love watching love story, you can always relate and will feel the love, pain and will cry as well.

i recommend you watch it. in my opinion it is a great film about a soldier who falls in love with a student girl. i really enjoyed that film. it was even better than all the reviews i have read.
