Hello Lotters I know this is some what an old issue before but i couldn't help talk about it because some how still controversial still. Just today I was watching a Local show and interviewed two members of the Journalist Media Industry, talking about the alleged WIKI-LEAKS information. to be honest, right now, I don't really care who distributed or who put it online, but in my opinion I think he made a terrible mistake in doing this. another thing is that the Talk-show host was kinda dumb as she was like siding with the person responsible himself. Not a ref. link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On-0d_9OgJk Discussions made and exposed some lies, compromised foreign policies from country to the other. some people even feared war because of this exposure. it's more like secrecy has been busted out here. but more likely everything is different from what the Media or the Governments (e.g.US) official statements. But Since i felt the interview was not enough, am asking you, What do you think about the Issue? and it's consequence to the public. Is it better to just leave it than said? or expose. 9/40/11- 3:20am

I am a whistle blower by nature, and I applaud his actions loudly. What is uncovered may cause embarrassment to the government, but it allows the people, of whom the government is theoretically the servant, to know what exactly it is that is done in their nanme. Or shareholders in a company if it has been exposed for unethical behaviour. Those who criticise whistle blowers are those who either have something to lose, or whose own interests depends heavily on the status quo. Neither is reason to keep the truth hidden. No doubt, if hordes of people began blowing whistles in a variety of contexts there would be considerable dislocation, economic loss, and disgraced politicians/businessmen/policemen/... etc., but human societies have amazing resiliency, and they would recover, hoepfully more honest and open in the aftermath. Yes, of course, that is unsupported optimism, we really are not an admirable species on the whole. Lash

Hello grandpa_lash, I remember that one time in wall street about a stock holder that got arrested during the times of US financial crisis, for getting more than what he deserve, more say like cheating. unfortunately, common people will not understand this except the different governments who were indirectly or directly involved in it. It's already caused an embarrassment.

hi letran I just think I am appalled and not sure whats all the truth and what is not true.I think the real truth is somewhere in between the media antics. So I would just let it be for now. Unknown consequences to the public right now.

Hello hatley, Definitely what was exposed was the once who were part of it. but i do agree that dangers have truly been exposed to those who were part of it. can't imagine different diplomats getting embarrassed by this and re-deployed again
