The attitude I take

It has taken many years for my to realize this, but the passing of my ex-fiance has made me have a better understanding on some things. A couple of things that have helped me live each day as it is my last is to be able to finally not care. I am not saying I do not care, but the little stresses that make for a miserable day, the drama that people like to cause. I finally realize that I choose who I want and who I want in my life, that I can choose to have it taken out of my life. After understanding that, the past month has been amazing. It has not been perfect, money issues, family issues, personal issues, but no longer do I let them defeat me as a person, and enjoy the day as it is brought to me, and overcome the challenges it presents because I remember it is my choice to have those challenges in my life, no one else's.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. The passing of someone who was once close to us is always difficult. I think you have exactly the right attitude. It took me a while to realize how much control we really have over our emotions. So much depends on self talk. What we consistently tell ourselves will gratly affect how we feel. In life it really is the only aspect we can control. Others may do or say things 'to us' but we always have the choice of how we will react or think about it. It requires discipline but is so well worth the effort. You sound like you have a very healthy attitude and I think that will serve you very well. Good for you

Thank-you very much, and very correct on what you said. Probably put it in better words than I could. It takes patience and commitment to achieve the attitude. As well as people will always continue to put us down, but the discipline obtained is what gets you threw those times.

that is the attitude i want also. The problem is being afraid to change. We always think of what might say before we do something. For example, here at mylot, when someone asks a question and i know the answer. I usually think that someone might think that my answer is wrong or does not fully address the problem. I also avoid asking questions because of what people might say. I think i need to change and do what i think is right. Thanks for posting this. Now i can do what pleases and stop caring what other might say.

Never let what someone else thinks and says stop you from doing anything in your life, even if it is just here at mylot, all they are, are opinions of someone else, and what you as a person believes is what matters, I call it the i dont care attitude. Where you do care but the outside influences dont matter as much and you choose to take the answers opinions and advice of others how you deem fit. I hope this made sense.

Hi ljames85! I am so glad that you are keeping a positive outlook in life. Being happy is a matter of choice and I've chosen to be happy everyday in my life as possible. We cannot avoid obstacles in our lives but we can take them as challenges. It will definitely help us to be stronger and to learn as long as we don't give up. Keep being tough :)

Thank-you brew2x. That is correct the challenges and obstacles we face help us make us a better person, and learn new things to imply in our everyday. When the obstacles and challenges are faced in a positive outlook anything is possible.

that is right. It is all about perspective. If we approach things negatively that is how it will happen. Mind over matter really, as many will argue that fact, if they take it and stop looking at the negative of everything and look at the positive they will understand that it is not so much that way. I hope that makes sense.
