Have you ever had a gut feeling to do something out of the ordinary?

I'm planning a trip next month to visit my cousin who lives 6 hrs. from me and attend a horse show near her to meet an old western star. I feel I need to take this trip and my son and his wife are planning to go with me. I haven't seen my cousin in a couple years and she lost her son to a heart attack in May. But I wouldn't be thinking about going if not for the horse show. I've always admired this old cowboy actor since my childhood. I may never get another chance to meet him. I have no reason I shouldn't go, but I'm not one to do things on impulse. What is this gut feeling about? Should I follow my gut feeling?
