How Do You Like Your Steak?

September 5, 2011 10:37am CST
My cousin and her boyfriend came back from Canada last week, so her boyfriend invited us for dinner on some steak house at greenbelt area,he ordered rib eye steak for all of us, they like their steak medium rare, but I prefer it medium well, when the steak was served and we are all eating I noticed that their steak is still pink inside, means it's still raw,but they said that's the best cook for steak... well maybe for them but for me I like my meat cooked well, perhaps because here in the Philippines we cook our meat for hours until it get tender. so eating a medium rare is a no no for me. But I understand that people like their steak differently. so my fellow mylotters how do you like your steak?

I really like my steak very rare, in fact I like it to be nearly mooing!! I think if steak is cooked too much it makes it very dry and tough (unless it is slow cooked in a sauce like braised steak of course!)

medium to well done.. i like it crispy round the fat, properly cooked, and tender in the middle. if it's slightly pink, where you know it's still cooked just hasn't fully coloured, thats fine.. but other than that i can't touch it haha!!

I like my steak medium to well done. I don't want to see any red, but I don't want it burnt either. I do like steak marianated, or with mushrooms on top. And lots of pepper.

Hi, I just made steak last night. I made mine first onion that cooked with butter and cook them until they just start to get a little black on the edges. Then I add mushrooms just until warm and then add woschirre sauce like 1 teaspoon and then add the steak on top until cooked. Add little salt and pepper and backed potoate with butter and sour cream and peas. That is how I like my steak or corn on the cob too instead of peas. Thanks Unique16

Hahahahahaha. My wife and I were just having this discussion the other night after I cooked two steaks. I grew up in the USA and a good steak is rare or medium rare. If it is cooked more than that it is considered ruined. Well, my wife looked at hers and started eating it because she did not want to hurt my feelings. I could see she was not enjoying it, so I cooked it to well done for her and she loved it. It's weird how different cultures cook their foods so differently and have so many different like and dislikes. Like...I cannot eat all the rice she eats but she on the other hand cannot eat all the potato's that I do. Being that I am American and my wife is Filipina we are still learning what each others likes.

Hi, flowerfest08. You are like me too. I like my steak to be fully cooked. I never want to eat a steak that is medium rare at all. If I see that my steak is pink inside of it, I will not eat it. It looks raw to me then. I cook any roast that I eat for at least four hours until it is completely tender, so I know that you like for your steak to be cooked to well done.

I like mine medium done, fried in butter that's been melted in a pan that's had a crushed clove of garlic rubbed around the surface.

There has always been rare steak but recently, I think TV chefs have made the problem much worse. They always have very red, almost bloody meat in the center of their steaks. Now I always ask for "Pretty much burned" steak!

I don't eat steak very often, but when I do, I like it to be well done. Eating meat that isn't thoroughly cooked can be dangerous making you sick & could even give you parasites. I don't want to take any chances at eating a medium or even worse, a rare steak.

I like my steak to be well done. Don't like the pink color once you slice it, but most people say that its the best way to enjoy your steak since you'll taste the flavors of the meat if it is medium rare.

hehe yes that's what my cousin said, but I really can't eat that, just seeing them slice it, and it's still color pink makes me imagine that it's still raw. thank you for your comment friend
