Why is it so expensive to get to the lovely North of Tenerife when there is an airport there hardly used.

If you think of your home country its cheapest airport to fly out of might be the one belonging to the capital city like in my home country it is London. Popular and nearby destinations will be the cheapest to fly into. Faraway destinations and less popular places to go will be on more expensive flights.
If I wanted to go to Tenerife in the Canary Islands I would fly to any airport there. Then I would make my way overland to the north of Tenerife. I would take a seat on a two week deal on a charter plane probably.
I wanted to go to Dubrovnik in Croatia so I flew on a budget airline to Trieste in Italy. Then I took an overnight bus to Dubrovnik. I also went on down to Montenegro. A direct flight from London to Dubrovnik would have been very expensive. I got there the cheaper way.

Hi Maximax8, that would normally be the case but overland charges in both Britain and Tenerife are expensive and although I have not checked but Britains Gatwick would probably be the cheapest airport because the cheap charter airlines fly from there but the time and cost makes it dearer and they don't fly into the North. It is a £200.00 taxi trip from the south to the north airport.

Is there not a bus from the South of Tenerife to the north? Yes, a taxi long distance can be expensive. I had taxi for four hours in Malaysia and I remember it was around £100. I had a poorly leg so therefore needed it. Good luck finding a way to do the trip that you wish.
