Roses or diamonds?

An old saying "I rather roses on my table than diamonds around my neck" I love this, what are your opinions on it? To me yes its nice to have something bought, if I can have it with me all the time, or look at it, the probability of it getting lost, broken, stolen are low. But I really much prefer flowers, not necessarily roses, but I can take them enjoy them, and than dry them, and continue to enjoy them. I have even moved with dried flowers, for a matter of fact as weird as it is I still have a single pink dried rose that my ex-fiance (bless his soul) as well as dried hibiscus flower petals (I was to wear in my hair the day we got married and he gave them to me 1 year before the wedding date) in my hallway.

yes! i absolutely agree with you on that..i would also prefer roses because for me it symbolizes love.. so if you partner give it to you it would mean that you are loved by him..it is so nice to have that feeling.. :)

That is exactlly it. Unfortunatly in todays society to mamy people take it for granted. It is sad.

i would prefer to have flowers also instead of diamonds. i love flowers because of its colors. i can be moved with a bouquet of flowers than diamonds. they say diamonds are forever, yes, that;s true but it's still prefer flowers.

Diamonds are forever until i lose them or my child takes them as treasure. Flowers make me feel the person actually put thought into something.

Red Rose - A symbol of love and thoughtfulness
Like most women, I do love flowers particularly rose and I really am delighted when my hubby gives me roses because it shows his thoughtfulness. But of course if I would choose between diamonds and roses, I'd be more practical I'd choose diamond because diamonds are more precious than roses. Roses will wither in a day or two and but diamonds won't. They remain as precious as ever.
