Would you rather listen to someone with authority or with experience?

We dont take experience for granted. Do we listen to people who has had experience or do we listen only to authorities? Is it always guaranteed that someone who has authority also has experience?

Personally, I would rather listen to someone with experience. I have come to a conclusion, that those with authority have no sense or have any experience at all. They are just given the title. How can you command if you have no idea what to do, or what needs to be done, how can you guide people if you don't know what you are doing yourself. So experience is definitely more important in my opinion.

It also happens that the authorities would even become insecure of the experienced. Oh well.. politicking happens everywhere.

I think I may be compelled to listen to someone with authority whom I may not like to listen to at all. But surely I am always ready to listen to someone with experience that would definitely be of some value to me.

I tend to listen to someone who has experience about a particular issue or thing. An experienced person can even be my classmate who may not be an authority in that field but might be able to help me more than an authority would.I do not think that someone who has authority also has experience.

There is a saying - "Even a fool can teach the learned". I would therefore not restrict myself to whether one is experienced or someone with authority.

Personally I would listen to both and get further opinions this way. I would then weight the options and based them on my own experiences. There is nothing wrong with getting both sides for me as this way I have two separate opinions.

The authorities have the power to make us listen to them. The problem is that we must filter every information and take a decision. By doing that we will gain experience. That is why a word from a more experienced person is better.

I guess I would rather listen to someone with experience than someone who has authority but I think it would also depend on what matters are involved. Say, for example, in case of impending natural disasters, say like typhoons or tsunamis, earthquakes and the like, I will most likely listen to someone with authority on things such as this.

NOT all who has Authority has Experience but he who has the Experience has the Authority , legally or just implied
