Is MS Dhoni considering about joining the Pakistan Cricket team?

hi friends.dont start confusing yourself about this discussion.we will go there but before that some statistics. there are 3 indian players A,B & C. all played as lower middle-order batsmen. player A. matches : 26 innings : 21 runs : 563 average : 26.8 fours : 44 sixes : 32 NOTSRC85: 13times Player B. matches : 34 innings : 32 runs : 955 average : 29.8 fours : 78 sixes : 12 NOTSRC85: 11 Player C. matches : 21 innings : 13 runs : 334 average : 25.7 fours : 20 sixes : 4 NOTSRC85: 5 ( NOTSRC85 number of times strike rate crossed 85 ) the above statistics were between 3 number 6,7 position batsmen from jan 2010 to till now in ODI's out of the three, only one is still in the team.the other 2 are not even considered as the second choice for injured players.lol give the answer at the end. now about the topic. each and every commentator when talking about pakistan team make sure they say this sentence. " WE DONT KNOW WHICH PAKISTAN TEAM IS GONNA TURN UP IN THIS MATCH " reason:the team is very unpredictable. one day they challenge even the world champions, the other day they play like a number 9 team. same with Mr.Dhoni. between the majestic 68* not out during sachin's 200* knock and 91* in the world cup final, there was hardly any contribution made by him. even the most die-hard Dhoni fans will agree that these days when Dhoni goes to bat,the first question the pops out will be "will he send the opposition fielder searching for the ball or will he be the one searching for the ball" unfortunately the second thing is the one happening most of the times. so thats the reason for the discussion. incase you haven't figured out who the 3 players are, here is the answer. player A yusuf pathan Player B MS Dhoni player C Ravindra Jadeja. lol.sorry but i can't help myself from making fun of the captain. but seriously in the past 2 years, you can't exactly say anything difference between those 3 players except one of them is the captain. one must wonder if either jadeja or yusuf was the captain, will he be given the boot or in the worst case scenario,if dhoni is not the captain, would he be still on the team based on his performance for the past 2 years. for those who says about the 91 in the final,he hardly contributed with the bat leading towards final. if piyush chawla had taken 5 wicket haul in the finals, will his place be cemented in the odi team even though he bowled poorly through out the tournament?

Ah! Statistics are really funny things, they say a lot, but usually hide the most important aspects. Now if you add one more metric here, how many matches have been won by these individuals. Yusuf won us one match in the last three years against NZ. Jadeja won us one match if I am not wrong. On the other hand, Dhoni won us quite a few matches including the world cup final. So though this is an interesting analysis, the important aspects are missing in this :) Cheers! Ram

yeah i know statistics can be misleading.thats why i double checked before starting this discussion. when i had a look for the second time now, this year, the only match winning contribution from him against a decent side came only in the world cup finals. its almost september now. is that what one should expect from the captain,a match-winning innings once a year? as for jadeja, lol it was obvious.jadeja played 13 innings while dhoni played 32.almost 3 times more than jadeja's. BTW just east of this country, there is another cricket playing nation which lost the test series and odi series against a team rated lower than the home team. so what does the board do? asked the captain and vice-captain to give up captaincy. why no one even raised a single voice when almost 2 months in england soil, indians failed to win a match?

It's really funny, but looks like both Jadeja and Dhoni have read your query. They have responded by leading the Indian fightback with fighting half centuries in the third match. So looks they are trying to prove you wrong :) Cheers! Ram

Wow wonderful stats you have put up here. I am not great fan of M.S.Dhoni even though Team India won the World Cup under him. Since two years his aggression has just vanished, I use to admire Dhoni when he scored 142 odd against Pakistan in Visakhapatnam. He came at No 3 and played a blasted innings and at that time he was not captain. What I strongly feel is that Dhoni has no competition in Captaincy right now and another aspect is that he is wicket keeper batsman. India have tried with M.S.K.Prasad, Ratra, Dinesh Karthick before Dhoni but the previously said players never came back to India team once they were dropped when they faced injury problems. Kartick later came back but never got chance to play for India after Dhoni became captain of the side. I feel very sorry that there must be some competition and that is not possible if selectors treat Dhoni as god. Selectors poor selection policy I never understand. For Example, One day they take Sreesanth and he will be dropped after a good performance. What do a player think if his good performance do not earn him a place in international team. There must be system where if a player is injured then he must first become fit then play some domestic cricket and get into form and then play international game. Not like Sehwag straight away comes into the team without checking his fitness and his batting form. What happened Sehwag has given one of the worst performances of his life and now he opted out of the team. Why any player must be given so much weight compared to other players. Second problem is M.S.Dhoni is not quality player for Test cricket. If selectors want to see his quality then take away his captaincy and ask him to play like Sachin or Dravid. Everyone is giving sympathies that Dhoni has lot of duties to perform, so, it is better to give him captaincy duties only in T20 and ODI formats. Selectors have to series have to build up a bowling department. Because no bowler for India right now is able to defend a score of 300 runs in 50 overs. Hardly any bowler is looking professional for India. We keep on depend on bowling of part time of Yuvaraj, Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Kohli, etc. These bowlers will not always win matches for you all the time.
