Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, ypu turn the volume of the radio down?

Probably so people can focus better on what they are looking for and not the song that's blaring from the radio.

LOL. Because the building you are looking for might be yelling "Over Here!, Over Here!" I Don't know.. but I Swear I have done that too?

Yes, I do that. I think most people do that too, to reduce distraction. I turn the radio on when I am driving to my office in the downtown core. That's for relaxation. But, when I get into the middle of the traffic jam area, I turn it off to stop the distraction, for safety reasons.

I don't do that, but than I don't have the radio blaring at some extreme high volume so that it would be a distraction. I'm not saying that you blast your radio, but I don't understand why it would be that much of a distraction when looking for an address, that planning should have you close to anyway, if it is at a reasonable volume.

Maybe its so that the would be driver can hear him/herself think? :O I really don't have an answer but I have seen this behavior before too! It's probably a funny little quirk that some people do. I pick up the phone and walk into a different room to answer it when others are around or when the radio/tv is on.
