Sakura S270 Electric Bike - This is my Sakura S270 Electric Bike taken on a ride down a green lane near where I live. It gives me the freedom to travel to many places which I might not see in a car.
Hypnotism does NOT kill people. The hypnotic state is a perfectly natural and normal state of mind during which the subconscious becomes available to and, to a certain extent, susceptible to the conscious. It is a very similar state to meditation or to what happens when one focusses intently on a particular thing. There is no reliable evidence of anyone ever being killed or dying as a result of hypnosis. A good hypnotist is simply a guide who knows how to induce this state in other people. At no time is the subject 'under the power' of the hypnotist and nor can they be made to do things against their will. Hypnosis is a safe procedure though 'stage hypnosis' (that is, using hypnosis for entertainment and show) should be avoided. Very often, the stage hypnotist will use collaborators who actually pretend to be hypnotised and to act in ways which 'enhance the entertainment value'. The advantages of hypnosis, when used properly, can be great. It can be used to remove mental/emotional blocks and to cure addictions. There are many things which appear to be physical ailments which are actually due to deep-seated and repressed emotional states. Hypnosis allows these emotional blockages to be removed therapeutically, thus curing the subject.

Please don't ask how the photo of my electric bike got attached to this response! I actually did attach it in ANOTHER discussion (to which it was relevant). Somehow MyLot screwed up and attached it to this one as well! As I said in the other discussion, I very much enjoy using my bike to go places and find the experience very relaxing and therapeutic and thinking back on or remembering the rides I have taken could almost be said to be hypnotic (sleep-inducing)!

I've never heard about anyone killed by hypnosis. It's very useful if you want to quit smoking for example, but killing it's not on the list

I am not very familiar with hypnosis and do not know if killing. but in every assertion has some truth. Yet it must be proven scientifically. maybe so I do not deal with hypnosis, so I'm not very savvy. nice day!

I can't think of any reason why hypnotism kills people. Fact is hypnotism doesn't work with all people and only with a very small group very well. If this means it will kill this small group also other things might kill them since their mind is easy to manipulate and (ab)use.

I think hypnotism brings a state like sleeping while all our body works normally. If one hypnotized is not brought to awaken state even after long time harmful things may occur. It is a part of modern science and has importance in psychiatry and crime detection.

There is no truth behind all this rumors that hypnotism kills people. Hypnotism is the scientific and clinical use of hypnosis. Hypnotist has no special power, hypnotism is a natural part of human behaviour that affects psychological, social & physical experience. Hypnotized people are usually fully aware what is said and done, they do not lose control of their actions and can distinguish between right & wrong.
