I find myself in a passion less career, but I am unable to pursue my true goals for the fear of financial stability. What makes it even harder is that mine is a great job many strive for. A classic case of "Golden handcuffs" if you will. So, can you give me advice hear. How can one earn enough to be happy while pursuing less than lucrative ambitions???

I think both. What's the use of money if they'll take away the 1 thing you love to do most? On the other side, you can never have a complete life if you're doing what's you're passionate about but having an empty stomach because you have no money to buy food. So I think we should strive for the balance of money and food.

If you find yourself in a passion less career, unable ot pursue your true goals then how can it be a great job? A great job is a job you feel great in. Not what others say about it. Ask yourself what is more important to you. To feel the passion, to feel you are alive, to pursue your true goals or to have a "great" job and financial stability. If financial stability is the most important to you the only thing you can do is find passion in the work you do, change your goals (if you have that job you probably are good in it) or try to do what you really like next to your "great" job. It might be a good start to get what you want after all.

Money over passion in the current economic downfall but I do understand where you coming from. But if you think about it a job without good finincial stability isn't worth having if you enjoy it because your going to have to buy things you want?your going to have to spend free time doing something in which youwant to do which will cost money. So cause of the economy ATM I would say money over passion until you can find the job in which to want to pursue and enjoy so you can support yourself and have fun

Money is important, but with money and no one to share it with, you will just end up lonely and useless. However, with someone to spend but with no money, you will end up the same. So better go for the one that will give you joy and happiness.

Hi Norton100.. Well at least you are in a job that is related to your passion.. I mean that counts for something, right? If you are looking to follow your career, then wouldnt this be apart of your passion anyway.. to be honest my friend.. I am a little confused of what you are asking in this post.. Maybe you can re describe but a but more clearer..? (",)

i choose money rather than passion because money is needed to do any kinds of work but it can lead to bad habits ,,it is not due to money it is because of bad thinking ...so money should be properly used

Man can not live on passion alone. I know I should probably say passion is more important. Strive for you dreams! Follow you heart! Proclaim the Disney movies and our teachers in school. Pursuing your fondest of dreams can indeed bring great happiness and an overall sense or purpose. However the real world intrudes here. My dream is to be writer. A published fiction writer. However that doesn't mean that from here I am going to leave it all behind and pursue that dream with all of my being. Breaking into the publishing industry is extremely hard - it takes years of hard work and marketing. However I don't have years. I need to survive now. I need food and shelter now - neither of those needs is going to wait seven, ten or more years. That means I am going to have to find something else for now. That also means I must put money first and put my passion on hold. Following your dreams is nice, but it is not always realistic. You need to take into account your security and your needs in the present. If you dream is not something that can yield enough right away, then you are going to need something else to hold you until your dream is viable. That often means getting a job that may not be your passion. I think you are on the right track now. You have a secure job and it sounds like you are comfortable. Don't throw that away. Rather, keep it and work on your dream "part time." This way when your dream is viable, you can shift over with minimum stress. There will be no period in which you play the "starving dreamer."

See if career is not there so you wont have money in your hand. Firstly you have to achieve your goal and not fear about you financial stability because as you career will set indirectly your financial status will also be stable. And both are like a coin we need both passion and money for the you have to gain one by one otherwise nothing will remain in your hand

Hi, i choose passion more compared to money. Most of the times, our passion will leads us to a less paying job(i think). But i will make sure that my pay is enough to support me with necesaities. If i could afford luxury, then that's a bonus. I prefer working and doing something i like. I do not want to drag myself to work everyday doing something that i don't like.

I think that money is not a passion.Gamblers are with passion to make money and always interested in gambling whether it loss or gain. When one's job is not matching to his/her nature, ambition, and aptitudes, it turns as a burden. Most of us select the job considering money receivable from it and its' position in the society. In my opinion they are spoiling their life without getting satisfaction of job.Escape at the earliest to a job whether simple or great, where one can be creative is a fortune!
