its payday, but i am not that happy

everymonth, what i look forward to is the pay day at my day job. i always count the days before this pay day comes and that is what keeps me going. but then, when pay day comes it seems that i am not happy. this is because, i have to budget it and also pay the house bills, internet bills, phone bills and what is left to me is just enough for my food for the next 15 days and nothing for my shopping . i feel weird because i feel that the money only touches my hands and then go to others hands . what are your opinions about this guys?

It is really a sad reality. High inflation have drastically reduce our money's buying power and unless you're a wise spender, nothing will be left to buy the basic needs. If you're a casual employee, chances are your earning is just enough to buy the basics for survival. Many companies would rather sacrifice their employees wages rather than their profit. We can do little to change this kind of system but we can do much to maximize what we are earning. Some have even resorted to small business to augment their small than GMA income. Depending on your situation, you can think of other ways to generate income aside from your main job. Perhaps you have something, be it skill or material possession which you can use for generating income. Anyway, these are just my thoughts as it it my way of dealing with this kind of situation. I know you also have you own ingenious way. Good day :-)

exactly the same with me. i could only be happy when there are extra money like allowances and bonuses that come in. when it's payday, it's really that i hold the money for just a minute and everything will be handed to my wife. and she will budget the money for electric bill, house rent, tuition fees, the food and others.

I use to look forward to mid-year and year-end bonuses but not now. Even bonuses today has been allotted already for something else just like paydays where it just passes your hand.

kind of depressing to think that we work hard for the money for 15 days and it does not last in our hands for even one day because we have to pay the bills. i agree that mid year bonuses has already been allotted. we have to move on since we have to live life and let our families live too.

you got it, and i agree to that. that's why most of us concentrate on getting extra money, even when it's little. if only we can get a part-time job as a second job that will help a lot in the budget.

Same thing is happening to me lately. We hardly save anything due to lots of expenses. There are times that we need to withdraw money from our bank savings because our budget is already not enough and the payday is still several days away. My husband is not working at the moment since no one will take care of our 4 months old baby so my salary is the only thing we can count on to pay the bills and other needs. Our baby's vaccines are also a bit expensive. I am glad we are still getting through the tough times.

I cannot agree to you more. The prices keep on going up. Even basic needs are now not so affordable. Thank you for your wish for my family, I'm hoping he best for you too. Godbless :)

sometimes we cannot buy the basic needs anymore or dont have a stock for a long time just so that we are able to buy food. I hope the government do something about this. happy mylotting.

i am glad and proud that people are still persevering through this tough times. it is very difficult nowadays because the products and services prices are all going up and nothing is going down and our salary is still the same. i hope that your salary will be enough for your family. God bless.

I say that it's either you try to save with what you have and invest, live below your means or get a higher paying job. If you are not satisfied with what you are getting and you think it is not sufficient for your living, you may consider saving bit by bit and investing to generate passive income to add up to your earnings each month. Also, living below your means will surely make that pay check of yours enough already, that is you have to degrade your lifestyle. Another option is to look for a higher paying job to cover up the bills so that you get something extra for your shopping. Either of this three suggestions will surely help you with getting through that pay check. Just my two cents in here.

thank you for the suggestions agent gulaman. yes, i agree that living below my means will give me room for extra budget and for my savings. if i will have my enough experience i wil surely go abroad and earn a higher salary for my family.

Maybe you could find ways to save money so that you have some money for shopping? For example, maybe you cld try to pack lunch from home? Or maybe you cld save on drinks during lunch? Or maybe you cld take up a part-time job or even sell your unwanted things on ebay, etc? For me, saving is very impt and so if need be, I will try to cut down on food expenses. I only go shopping when I need to get sth.

It's hard when you live paycheque to paycheque. It never feels like you have any money, and you are always waiting until you get money. I am trying very hard to cut back on my expenses and make some more space in my budget, but it's hard to do because bills just keep coming. Right now I'm trying to find ways to cut back on my food bill. I find it easier if I just pick one area and really try to find ways to cut it back. Once I have a bit of surplus, I think it will be easier.

Yea, the same goes to me. Well I still don't have all that responsibilities yet but when I work, I have to manage my money for my needs, for savings and all I have for myself is barely for food. That's why I decided to joined this site and many other sites that offer extra money. That way the money I make with my day job, I use it for my expenses and needs and savings for vacation trips like how other people do it, and the money from this site and other extra earning sites, I use it for myself. Like for ipods, dvds, etc.

Oh I know how you feel! I feel the same. It seems like we're working for nothing because by the end of the month (when we get our salary) I don't feel like I've 'earned' something. It feels really depressing working so hard only to pay someone else when salary comes. It does feel depressing but I am at least happy that I could pay my bills with it. Which is why I always strive to find other means of earning so that I wouldn't have to rely on my salary. Whew! Good luck to all of us. Have a great MyLot experience today!

I understand your sentiments because not so long ago I was like you. It seems no matter how I tried what I earn from my day job is not enough for me to live let alone support my family. Anyways I prayed and after almost a year God gave me a side job to write online and this is where I am the happiest when its payday time. My efforts are well compensated. Still I will not let go of my day job. I still can manage both. All I need is proper time management and Gods help to make my body withstand the long working hours.

It is not fun at all and I completely understand. It is not fun at all being poor. It seems unless you are rich that most do live paycheck to paycheck.

happiness is appreciation what you have. just think of it on a positive note. Some people don't even have paydays because they don't have a job. Some people don't have pay house bills. because they don't have a home. Some people don't pay internet nor phone bills, because they can't even afford to buy food. That I guess I something you should look at for you to appreciate what you have.

Well, look at it the on a positive point of view, you get to pay your bills, you get to eat decent food, and you get to have what you need. Some people can barely make to buy something to eat for a whole day. I know it can also be depressing knowing that you are only working to survive, but with perseverance, every hard work will eventually pay off someday. So, until then, live life being grateful and strive to achieve more.

thank you for letting me look at the bright side choybel. you are correct, sometimes we are too caught up in the negatives that we are not able to see that we are more blessed than others. at least i am still able to support myself and let my family eat for the next 15 days.
