Being Booted

I have been away for a while, but not so long that I can't remember that we didn't get booted out in the middle of writing a post, or if we wander away for a coffee, or sometimes in the middle of posting, thus losing the stuff I've written - I now ControlC before posting.
Is it just me, or does this happen to lots of people?

I am using mobile broadband for a few months now and sometimes everything is slow. I think it's my connection though and not the fault of myLot - well at leastthat is what I'm hoping

No, this isn't about slow (although mine is, and only on MyLot), but about MyLot booting me out, as mentioned in the first answer.

I have heard this before and though hmm it never happens to me. But then two weeks ago out of no where yes it happened to me about 2 - 3 day for about four days. At first I though what the hooey and then when I saw the log in again, for a minute the first time I saw this I though huh, am I suspended. lol
But yes it did happen to me two weeks ago and not sure why now for two weeks it has not. So maybe just something to do with the site, because I was logged into to other sites in other tabs and was not logged off from them.

I have not been booted while writing a discussion but I know that the site keeps logging me out. I used to leave myself logged in all the time so I did not have to skip all those offers I have no interest in when logging in. Now I find that I am always logged out when I open mylot.
I have had problems with posts getting lost when trying to post so I have started copying all my discussions and responses before I post them as it is too hard to type it all again.

It seems to only happen to me after I have just typed out a really well thought out, naturally flowing long response.
It never happens with short responses that I make for some reason. No, it it has to do it to the long ones!
Copying before posting is something that I have been doing too, but sometimes I forget!

Hello Grandpa_lash, I think i remember you way back in my former account, but i don't remember when we had a conversational post here in mylot. when people have work or other things to do offline, they would just leave mylot and get busy. it's not that they don't want to, some people prioritize off line duties. if i had work, i'd probably won't stay much here in mylot. Have a nice day and welcome back

Thanks for the welcome, but I think you may have misunderstood my question. For some reason I keep getting signed out, almost as if there is an automatic cut-off if I don't type or post something for more than a few minutes. I wondered if this is common.

myLot as you know is a tidbit in our life something that one can live without. Having said that it will definitely get a second place if more urgent issues show up. Even if I am in the middle of posting and have to call it a day, I don't save it as posting here is not so tough that one needs to save the stuff. Those thoughts will reappear. ControlC! What's that?

Control C - block a piece of text or a pic and then press those two keys simultaneosuly and the blocked piece is copied. You paste it to its new destination with Control V.

Is it not the same as highlight, copy, paste option? (which I use whenever I want to copy/paste.) But if one closes the pc neither options are useful. Unless you enable the 'keep me signed in' option myLot will disappear if you go elsewhere while the pc is on and at that time both the options come in handy.
