I would prefer a netbook because aside from it is handy and easy to carry, the life of battery is much longer compared to a notebook.

i have a subnotebook which is a dell latitude x300...It is titanium on the outside and ultra thin. The laptop sits ontop of a docking station and then comes off a netbook so i have the best of both worlds right at my fingertips though sometimes my ram sucks brick.

For doing basic things like net browsing , word, and normal music and movies its sufficient, but you cant watch HD and play games on a netbook right? Notebooks have also become very slim and easy to carry these days. Netbooks will have very small screens, IMO.

kearkear, It will depend what you need and plan to do. Netbook is undeniably portable and mobile but their configurations are much conservative or rather limited compared to the Notebook. For one, limited storage - you might already know the low Hard Disk capacity and Random Access Memory (RAM) on these Netbooks which will be an issue when you want to download for access and use while offline. Hence, Netbooks usually does not operate conventionally online and would require you to go onto "cloud computing" where much of your surfing or storage will be virtual. This will mean that you can only access or are able to recall your downloads when you are online. Lest you are with this latest development on computing and online habits, you will need to consider getting a Notebook instead.

Yeah I agree..Thanks for the response. It is really stated clearly the advantage and the disadvantage of both laptops...For now I have a notebook, though it's not that handy, but I could reliably on it and I love it..Wide screen..

I have had both netbooks and notebooks in my life, and I have to say that I find the notebooks a lot easier in general. You can get them in the kind of size so that they're not all that difficult to carry around, but they're still large enough to do everything that you might need to do with them. I find that netbooks tend to be a lot slower than notebooks, so if you want to do anything other than browse simple web pages you might find that you have a problem with them because of the speed of the things in general.

i want to buy one of them too and i'm still not set my mind yet. But several days ago i did a little research about netbook and i think most company is no longer develop netbook. Most of them starting to convert to tablet, so when i see netbook it's a series from last year or two.

What you said is true, but if were going to talk about major productivity factor, then notebooks are the winners, hands down. But, it will always depend on your preferences. It's what your going to do with your device that will help you decide which one would you get.

Yeah I agree with you...As an accountant, I would prefer notebook, that'w why I have notebook this time. It has big memory and wide screen and though it's not handy, I just enjoy every moment I'm with my Laptop..

My Dad has a netbook and I love how portable it is... it would be a great computer to carry around to write with. But I'm a Mac person. I don't like Windows software at all. I think maybe I might get an iPad one day, but there's almost no point cause the only thing I would want to do with it would be write and I can do that on my current Macbook. Or on a real notebook, like notebook notebook. I love writing in real journals. But it has to go digital at some point.
