It was truly a mindblowing experience in my perspective, since these two bands became popular in the 80s, the time I was in college. China Crisis' hit songs include 'Wishful Thinking' and 'Black Man Ray' while Simple Minds' classics are 'Alive and Kicking' and 'Dont You Forget About Me' which was the theme song for the equally memorable 80's movie 'The Breakfast Club'. I was happy since these two bands form part of my memories of a more youthful days. Physically they have aged, but their music and the way they sang them never aged. I looked around the place hoping to see familiar faces. There's nobody familiar, but I know these people shares similar memories. Everybody was ecstatic when Simple Minds sang "Dont You Forget About Me" and joining the "hey, hey, hey, hey!" and "lalalala" chorus! While the ladies as well as gentlemen stand up and joyfully dance and clap hands to the beat of China Crisis' "Wishful Thinking". It was like a time machine. For a day I thought I was back to those glorious times.

I was told they had a concert or appearance in SM Southmall near our place, although I have not seen them, my brother did and yes he was telling me how much they aged physically ( as all people do), but I am glad to hear from you that they still have the golden voice, " wishful thinking" is the only song I'm quite familiar with

I still listen to their songs via Youtube. In the 80's I have a collection of cassette tapes of popular new wave/punk bands like them, but tapes are notorious for degrading the quality of music recorded on them overtime and now it is obsolete. I am seeing more and more of those bands' music on Youtubes everyday, and I even figured out how to save them on files and upload them to my ITouch so I can listen and even watch the music videos wherever I go.

Hi greenpeas! Just like you, I also came from what was called new wave era. It's really nice that these bands (and singers) are still around and doing concerts such as this. I think most of them have made Manila as one of their destination because they are successfully and warmly received by their old fans here. I have watched China Crisis in one of their TV appearance in Eat Bulaga where they sung the song "Wishful Thinking" and I could say that they still sound good. I've heard also that 3 more artist from the 80"s are coming to have concerts here in Manila, namely Belinda Carlisle, Howard Jones and Human League. Maybe they are worth watching too. Have a nice day!
