So there are genres of music out there that are specifically aimed at death, suicide, murder, drugs etc. They exist in today's rock and also in rap. Now please bear in mind that this isn't mainstream music where there are brief instances of violence and sexuality. This music is severely graphic and made specifically gorey and vulgar. People believe that listening to this music encourages violent behavior. It is also said that listening to the said same music helps unleash someone's anger and therefore help someone from actually acting on these rageful instincts. There seems to be a very large fan base to some of this music. In your opinion do you let your children listen to violent music? Would you monitor their music habits or simply let them be? Do you believe this kind of music is harming your child if so in what ways or personal experience have you had with it?

Yes I do believe that violent music is very much harmful to children. Music stick to ones mind, especially on children because they can easily remember words much more those words with ryhme. Sometimes these kind of music are the one that gives ideas to children what to do incase of problems or misforture they have encountered. And these ideas are very harmful, unprofessional, imature and can hurt others and theirselves.

I see what you are saying. So would it be the child's fault for listening to the music? the parents fault for not monitoring what they are listening too? or the artists fault for allowing their music to be so out in the open?

A person's taste in music tells another person a lot about them. It tells others what they're into and what they like to listen, in a way reflecting their lifestyle. Exposing children to really inappropriate songs is quite harmful because kids may think that this is the norm. Many pop culture songs are about really mature content and unrealistic situations. So we should monitor on what kids listen to until they're ready to understand what the song truly means and how artists work.

You are right that a person's music preference does say something about them. But you can have a completely bizzarre taste in music and be completely normal as well too right? I guess it is just a difficult job determining your child's maturity level and understanding of what they can do. It's a difficult job for a parent to see what a child can and can't do in a way.

It is definitely harmful for everyone, but especially for children because they have the tendency to believe and imitate everything they hear. Think of it this way, music affects our emotions; love songs make some people cry, dance musics makes us dance so how would violent music affects us? you know how. So I wont allow my children to listen to these music.

Some of these kinds of music integrate my MP list and i don't feel anything abnormal so i believe it's ok!As for kids i wouldn't let them hear what they wanted in their youngest ages!
