hi..im ok about those flat screen..flat paneled..HDTVs.. not the oolden days(though most country still using) crts,, for todays need of a HIGH DEF societies.. u need a : 1-bluray player(or a ps3,its plays both games & bluray disc) 2-bluray disc movies 3-HDMI cable 4- and a FULL HD TV..otherwise ..whats the use if not full HD,.? HD ready is never good enough now the tricky part is..how to choose the best TV.. getting a bluray player..hdmi cables,,and movies bluray dvds..is easy..anyone can do it.But the Tv part is tricky. the best tv ..must have: -full HD -contrast ratio of 1million to 1 -at least 100hz motion flow/scan Once u got this spec sort out..then voila u got the best tv money can buy..regardless u prefer LCD or LED.. (Plasma tv have specs with up to 600hz scan and extremely high contrast ratio,But u can forget about plasma tv entirely..they suck) after trying a lot of tv..and buying a lot of tvs.. i can safely tell u guys.. SONY EX72 LED TV- is the best TV(unfortunately dont come that cheap) available in 32 40 46 and 55inch it has all the above necessary specs to ultimately enjoy ur HD experience.,not only that..its also plays 3D..u can even watch any thing in 3D even the news..it converts whatever youre watching on Tv to 3D even if its not a 3D movies etc. -the motion flow is at 200hz, comes free with 2 3D glasses(offer may varies from shops)* - inside it have the new X-Reality color processor..A.K.A Bravia engine 4 other brands also offers good tv at competative pricing..but if u watch closely at this SONY model.u will notice the HD is super smooth..watching a movie looks like looking thru a window. and black colors are soo BLACK! and white is perfect(hence the contrast ratio requirement.) and all the lousy 3D movies u have seen in the cinemas..the ones that u have wasted your money on,the one that u said "nothing 3D about it" ..u will be surprised the same movie..look way too 3D if viewed using this model. enjoy.
