about 4 weeks ago i set up a tank and bought three three hermit crabs from petco. I did a lot of reseach and set up my tank the correct way, after i brought them home they were super active a few days later one of my hermits buried himself and still hasn't came out the other one burried himself about the time it started to get colder (I live in Maryland) the one not burried is doing well but started being inactive when it got colder. Please help I don't know why my crabs are buried but i want to see them walk around and stuff, would it be okay for me unberry one of them, I dont think that the one thats been berried is molting (hes been burried for a while) and I dont think that they are dead because their is no smell

If someone put me in a small restricted area and left me to my own devices I imagine I would run around frantically for a few days trying to find a way out, and when it became obvious I wasn't going to get out, I'd probably bury myself and wait to die. Lash

Hi Willz369, I don't know a thing about hermit crabs, but you have gotten me curious and I am going to do some research on the little critters. I hope you find the answer you are looking for and I also hope that the little fellows are alright and will come out from hiding soon.
