Are you ticklish?

I went for a massage over the weekends and as the person was doing, I was rolling myself up almost into a ball because I was feeling so ticklish all over even though it was just the feet and the shoulder area. At some point in time I even laughed out loud.
My friend who was with me enjoyed it and she wasn't ticklish at all. I guess different people have different thresholds, are you the type to feel ticklish easily?

Me too!:) But the strange thing is that I don't always feel ticklish. With certain masseurs, I would feel ticklish but with others, I don't.

I guess sometimes the right acupoint just happened to be hit and that caused the ticklish feeling. When I'm being tickled, my hair stands on ends sometimes and it feels really strange.

OIC...didn't know that. It'll be gd to be able to get the same masseur to do the massage so that at least it will not happen again...but the foot reflexology centre I go to does not allow that.

It will be good to switch around so that you experience different styles, but of course once you are used to a certain person, it will be nice to stick to that person too.

Hello bmp! by the title itself, you made me tickle...
You mean, you are laughing out loud while having a massage? that's really funny! I hope the attendant doesn't irritate on that! you know what, that's the reason why I don't like foot spa or foot massages, I feel ticklish always when someone touches my feet. I am afraid for someone to be kicked when I would go for a massage or foot spa.
When it comes to body massage, I felt tickled when it's in the tummy part. I like having massage but I never been to massage parlor. I always get massage with our known neighbor in here who goes for houses only and the payment there is far way different in massage parlors of course. for people like me who doesn't have much money, it's better to go for neighbor massage instead.

Hahaha
Yes, it can be the other customers keep on looking at you and laughing with you at the same time or they can also be feeling like irritated cause you laugh so hard. luckily you didn't hurt the one massaging you.
Yes, the neighbor we had in here is not a physical therapists or so. Yes, when you get addicted by taking massage, it's probably you will really burn hole in your pocket, leaving you nothing...

annavi! I am not laughing so loud but from my actions and facial expression, I'm sure they can tell what I am doing, and they must be so amused. No, I didn't kick out at the masseur or anything, I'm just trying to get away from the source of tickle.

Hi annavi,
I am glad that I tickled you with the topic
Yes, I really laughed out and I could not help it. It is really so embarrassing because there are many customers all around me. They must be thinking I am a weird person.
So your neighbour charged way lower than the maasage parlor? That is good, for her to earn money and for you to save money.
I have tried a massage in my house before and it was really good, if I do it too often I may get addicted and then it will burn a hole in my pocket.

I used to be extremely ticklish then one day I decided I would not be ticklish and strangely from that day on I was not. My wife, who is very ticklish, cannot believe I just choose not to be
all the best urban

Hi urban,
This is so interesting, does it really work? Sounds like a good strategy, I must try it one day. Thanks for the reply.

I used to enjoy a lot of massages, and I never saw myself as ticklish. I mostly feel so relaxed when being worked on, that I don't want to think or feel anything else. Specially laughter.
But when I do play with my son, and tickle him too (he's 5), I can't help laugh when he tries to tickle me in the neck.

Most people are supposed to relax after being massaged on, that is why people liked going for massages right? I don't know why I felt so ticklish.
I guess playing with your son, either through tickles or other actions do strengthen your bond with him.

You have only one weak spot! Better not let others know it.

Oh my, i am like you. Ticklish on the feet. In fact, i cannot touch the front soles of my feet lest i get tickled.
In addition, i am so ticklish on my sides. My husband knows this, so he would always tickle me and i will roll laughing .

We do have all these weak points all over our body, it will be so easy to set us off.
It's fun to tickle somebody sometimes, but I guess we would always be at the losing end. I tickle my son a lot as he is unable to retaliate (at the moment), LOL

Same with my husband, just because he is bigger and i can't fully counter his tickles, with my tickle to his side too (he is also so ticklish ) , he would not stop until i rolled out from our bed.
Sometimes too, i get angry with him, when i had enough of it. I would hit him with my pillows, once i am able to stand.

I am very ticklish and have done a massage before when i was laughing and feeling good at the same time LOL. It is crazy how ticklish you are when you really dont know because normally people dont tickle you all the time to see if you are ticklish or not. I will still get a massage though no matter if im ticklish or not because afterwards i feel great.

LOL, it would be interesting to examine where else we can be ticklish, maybe the nose? Massage is good because it loosens our muscles and help us relax. It is very comfortable after that.

I think it is natural for us to become ticklish when other people hold our body.
Whenever I have had my massage session, it takes time for us to finish the session because I need to relax and stop once in a while because I can't hold my breath too long due to tickled feelings.
And I never had a foot spa after my first experience...it almost killed me and few times I kicked on with the attendant

Oh no, poor attendant! I was laughing out loud as I read your reply, that was really too funny to imagine but I guess the attendant wasn't too happy with it.
Does holding your breath help? For me, I twist and turn my body, hoping to get away from it or my muscles tensed up, none of it works, I felt ticklish anyway.

Generally speaking I am ticklish all over and for someone to massage and or do a pedicure makes me completely ticklish. It is funny on how I can do my own and it will not bother me at all. But when it comes to others that really gets to me.

Well, have you tried to tickle yourself? It would not work, at most we will feel uncomfortable but I don't think we can make ourselves laugh by doing that hee hee.

No I am not ticklish at all I also never was.
Perhaps I feel less as other people? I know my youngest daughter (5) is not ticklish either but she is still able to laugh out loud if you tickle her just because she loves to laugh.

Hi,
I have always thought that one's threshold for feeling ticklish gets higher as one gets older (no offense meant
) as my grandma was never ticklish. Now I know that is not the case, some are just not ticklish at all from birth. Generally kids are easily encouraged to laugh out loud. A funny expression or note can just set them off.
