Dirty Dancing is by far the worse movie ever

I am a firm believer that Dirty Dancing has to be the worse thing to ever hit the screen. I can't believe it has so many fans. How in the world it has sustained such an occult like following is beyond me. My number one reason for this affirmation is the movie had no relevance when it was created and still has no relevance. Yet, people continue to swear it is the best thing since sliced bread. Either way, I am glad I got that off my chest.

Patrick Swayze is why most people like this movie and the dancing. I really like the movie but I dont think its the best movie ever made, but still good.

Personally I enjoyed it, more for the music than anything else, but it's not the best movie in the world.
But I have a question as you say "the movie had no relevance when it was created" is this because we are talking about a movie based in the 50s yet made in the 80s? If so then that would by rule discount a huge proportion of movies which are made that recount bygone eras.
If you mean being a romantic fairytale then again that would also mean that a lot of movies would have no relevance and be terrible by this rule?

I have to diagree with you on this one and im truly sorry. Me being a dancer for along time now i absolutely love it and its a great movie. It does have a story to follow so im not sure why you dont think it does but oh well its your opinion and your entitled to it and im entitled to mine as well. I actually have this movie on VHS and still watch it to this day. I also like dirty dancing havanah nights too and thats a good movie as well.

it has lots of nice songs in its movie..and soundtrack album..
many people took notice when the songs from the movie playing on the radio prior to the movie release.. so people cant wait to see.. and its also a romance movie..instead of just straight forwrad dancing movies..
