Just last year the limewire application was block and is under a court order. I use limewire for downloading videos,mp3s,programs,pictures and many more but now for around 1 year already no limewire is not working at all. So as an alternative I use frostwire almost the same as limewire but less files are available. I also use torrents to download file. My question is if it's illegal to share copyrighted files(materials) why only limewire was blocked?

Be careful of Limewire the site is not only horrible, but it also gives you inappropriate material on your computer. My husband has downloaded many songs and now our laptop is not working. we had a friend of ours look to see what was going on and it turns out there isinapproppriate material on our computer. What we are going to do is take a hammer and smash our computer.

That is a tricky question though. Why napster is the first one got sued also, and why there are so many p2p software existed, and only limewire got sued. Maybe limewire is more popular than any other website out there, and it became the easy target for the authority to smack it down. So, you are lucky, frostwire and torrent still existed though.

I suspect limewire is blocked is because it is a popluar peer to peer file sharing application as oppose to the one you used.

I have no idea, I used frostwire before too, but now I switched to utorrent and 4shared.. I have heard that limewrie had lots of viruses. yeah, downloading copyrighted stuff is illegal, but then no one's really doing that much t prevent it.

Yes it is true. Copying copyrighted materials is a crime against the law. I think limewire has been shut down because they have a particular website database. And that database was used to them in court to be shut down. While the torrent has no particular database because it is share to share and it really depends on the other user on what database to be uploaded.
