Years ago there was a "Quincy,M.E." movie on tv,where a homeless man was accused of raping and murdering a woman on a beach. The man had 2 witness that said he was at a party at a house while this crime had occurred. After the examination on the woman's body was performed by Dr. Quincy,he determined that this man could not of been her attacker. But,the courts still pronounced him guilty and sentenced him to death. Quincy went on his own accord and investigated the case and was very close to proving who the real killer was.He needed a little more time to finish working on the case and he called the judge requesting a 48 hour hold on the execution. However the judge refused.Quincy kept working quickly, but it was not quick enough. He found the person that raped and killed her.It was a relative of an official in that state. Ever since then,I have not believed in the death penalty! Since then there has been several people that have been put to death by the order of the courts and later it was found that the person was innocent. That's ridiculous! In 1991,3 black men were sentenced in the deaths of two white women. And there was no physical evidence showing their guilt. One of the men has been executed and another is on death row.The third man appealed to have his sentence lowered to life in prison with no possibility of parole. I was told before by a relative,"Well,it cost's more to keep them alive".I just read that with the actual cost of the execution and the court costs to process it,in the state of Maryland it costs about $3 million. And every other state is that cost or more. Most recently, yesterday a man in Georgia was put to death, even after 7 of the 8 witnesses said that they were afraid of the police and they were frightened by them to say that they had seen the man commit murder. There was no physical evidence proving that he had done the crime. Do you believe in the death penalty?
