Girlfriend/Boyfriend in old age? Or what...!

Hi Mylotters, I saw a 70 year old guy dating a 60 plus year old lady and it left me wondering how they call each other. To me, I can't imagine him calling his lover as a girlfriend and her calling him boyfriend...

Do you think if you are old you stop live, just need sitting home and looking soup operas? 
I think it is realy sweet, when you can go to dates in 70 years old.
He he his calling her as oldgirfried un her call him for oldboyfriend. 
An so what need be happy for people who live life, because better go to dates than be surly men or women.

Hi miadsoriano, you are perfectly right as far as English is concerned, because what I have noticed here is these words boyfriend/girlfriend does not specify the age group in dating or just general words to mean a dating couple. But at 70, would one feel okay introducing his/her partner as boyfriend/girlfriend to other people?

well, if they are lovers, they could still each other as girlfriend and boyfriend. love knows no limitations and age, it could be shared by everybody, and it doesn't mean that if we get old, we don't have a right already to fall in love with someone if we are still free. there is nothing wrong if they will be calling each other girlfriend and boyfriend, anyway, it's their life and they are happy with what they are doing, provided that they did not hurt anybody with their relationship.

uumm sweetie, i don't really see the difference.
No matter what your age as long as you love someone, you will always call them your girl/boy friend or husband or wife.
I think it's nice that they met actually.
No one want to grow old alone.

No age limit for love because love is blind if we both me and my husband love to each other till end of life then I will also call him like boyfriend like honey came here haha...

if they are in love who cares anymore???
why not calling him "my boyfriend"? is life stopped in the age of 70? she can call him "my handsome guy", "my wonderful lover" or whatever she wants. these days , 70 years old is not that old, you know.
