expensive good health

I just remembered reading about an article whether obesity is really a disease or not and in this article, there are solutions provided to decrease obesity in that country. Indeed, if fast food restaurants are gone, the people won't be tempted to eat greasy, unhealthy food that the media loves to impose on everybody. Upon reading that, I just realized that healthier options to what we are used to having seemed more expensive and not always available. I've been anxious to try this meal replacement shakes that my former high school classmate's been endorsing for her company but unfortunately, I can't afford them for now. Even the organic fruits and vegetables they sell on the supermarket here is more expensive than regular grown produce. Herbal based medications that are said to be most effective in curing illnesses are highly priced as well because they are not supported by the government. Is it really that bad, that people are willing to sacrifice everybody's health to save money? Can't we just ditch the old ways and replace it with something more healthy for all the people to enjoy?

I agree. I think the government should do something about obesity. It's a major concern and nobody is realizing how huge this problem is. People die everyday from heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and other weight related deaths. If they would simply replace all the greasy food with more healthy food then it wouldn't be as bad, but as you said it's more expensive. I'm on a diet and it's kinda pricey at times..You would think that the government would care more for the people but they don't and it's sad. We have to take control of our own lives as much as we would like to make a change for all obese people.

Although it would be nice, I doubt all unhealthy foods will be replaced with healthy food. Many people like unhealthy food because it tastes good and it's cheap, therefore it sells. Fast food places know this, and that is why they get a lot of business. If these fast food places offered nothing but expensive healthy food, chances are, they wouldn't make as much business. The fast food restaurants really don't care about their customer's health. They just care about making money.

That is true, But seeing how obesity is a major issue then why doesn't someone do something about it? I would love to see more people in better health but i know it's not going to happen. :/

Well, most likely... the government is making money from it, so I doubt they are going to do anything. It's sad.
