Our MyLot Referrals

Whenever you get a new referral on myLot, do you send them a welcome message? Or, do you ignore them as your referrals? I ALWAYS send a welcome message as soon as I see that I have a new referral. Well, for the referrals that I do know personally, anyway. Referrals that I know personally, I generally help them get started in person, like my fiance who just joined myLot today (HellsButcher27). I send my referrals a welcome message, and not only welcome them... but I let them know if they need any help getting started, they can feel free to message me anytime. I also encourage them to read the terms, guidelines, and FAQ. As well as provide links.

Well Angelee, the last time I got a referral, they were not automatically my friend, so unless they accepted me friend request, I couldn't send a message..But when they did, yes, in fact I kept a copy of my "welcome to mylot" message in my inbox, just in case I somehow get another..

Hmm... that's odd. Referrals are generally automatically added to your friends list. I wonder why your referral was not added to your friends list?

Haha, I don't have very many referrals, and don't plan on trying to get any anytime soon. None of my friends are the kind that are interested in making money online, so I don't expect to see any new people signing up under my name that I know personally. And going online to various places and trying to get referrals always seems like more work than necessary. But I do think that if I had referrals, that sending them welcome messages would encourage them to continue working on Mylot and make them feel more welcome on this site. So, that's a great idea! Happy mylotting!

Yeah, some myLotters do not use the referral feature at all. It's not really necessary, it's just a nice little bonus if you can get the referrals. The only active referral I have right now is my fiance, lol!

Yeah, that's true. It doesn't hurt when you have inactive referrals, so there wouldn't be a need to delete them. I had one referral who never went on for a year, but then, suddenly, out of nowhere, he came back and started working for a couple of weeks. It was just a couple of weeks, that meant a couple weeks' money for me :D Happy mylotting!

Yep, that's how referrals are sometimes.

Many referrals are not active. But, don't delete them, as later on, they may decide to come and be active.

Yes even if I don't know them at all I would send a welcome message. I have walked referrals every step of the way but sadly they still don't stay. Some are simply not interested no matter what I have done. I have obtained one semi active one who is doing very well.

I have 22 referrals for which I sent welcome messages with tips on how to get started and that I would help further. Of the 22 only 5 responded back.

It's really sad that more people do not have interest in myLot. They just don't know how fun, and rewarding it is. They never will until they try it out though.

That's great. I could have already guessed that you would be one to send a welcome message and help members get started. You are a very, very kind and helpful person! Even though I have sent welcome messages and offered help, I still do not have an active referral. Not even a reply to my welcome messages. But, I still send them just in case.

Never via PM, usually only via Yahoo Messenger or another chat platform . Interactive greeting and explanation is clearer and better, I believe.. :)

I do not have access to communicating with most of my referrals through those chat systems. As once they are my referral, I only know them through myLot. I get most of my referrals from articles I write about myLot. I always add my referral link for those who want to sign up.

You can post your referral link in many places to get more referrals. You can post it on social-networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, forums, articles, etc.

Then that is really cool, being able to get referral from articles . Now I can only manage to get referral from around people that I fairly know . Maybe I will try to write an article about myLot later to gain some more referrals .

Yes, that is true. It's not that easy to get and keep active referrals. Therefore, it definitely shouldn't be anyone's main method of earning on myLot. It's just a little bonus for those lucky ones who are able to get many active referrals. You are very welcome, and thank you sweetie.

My referrals were already gone. I don't see them anymore here on myLot. I should have messaged them more and motivated them but I guess it's already too late.

I don't have any more referrals left but the next time I do, I'll frequently message them and encourage them to take care of their account.

Well, to be honest, even though I sent welcome messages to each of my referrals fairly quickly after they signed up... they have not responded, and are not active. Sadly, most referrals aren't active. However, never delete them off of your referrals list! A lot of times, they do come on myLot after a while and start being active. Sometimes, years later after they initially joined, but still it's nice to keep them in case they decide to be active.

I have one, and did welcome him(?). I have seen no activity, even though I did offer to help him get started. I can always hope, though. For sure I won't delete him from my referrals. I just often wonder why people bother to sign up if they don't want to participate.
