I suspect that my cat has hyperactive thyroid though I don't have an official diagnoses yet, but my cats symptoms seem to fit the research also I've called the vet and they said that what I described sounds like the condition
Here are the symptoms that I have noticed
My cat seems to be hungry 20 to 30 minutes after eating
He rarely gets tired he can play for hours he's constantly running jumping or meowing and restless
He's scratching his chin until raw, but clearly has No fleas, also he's grooming certain parts of his body until bald, and once and a while he has some light vomiting and I noticed that the white part of his eyes are a bit red
Note I took him to the vet a few times and the vet recommended getting him tested for hyperthyroid but the test cost a small fortune though I'm still planning to take him for the test I'm concerned that the medication he will have to take will lower his life expectancy also the cost of the treatment meds is a concern as well do have any advice and experience to share?

Oh that's interesting, so far my cats coat still looks fairly good accept for a few small bald patches near his hind leg and under his arm pit I mean paw pit, he still enjoys the little things also he seems to be using his litter box regularly and drinking normal amounts of water but he's a bit skinny around his pelvic area
Also his eyes are slightly red in the white part and he's a bit restless and scratching, and licking his fur alot but he has no fleas, he still seems to enjoy his life meaning he still loves his treats and playing his favorite toys, outside of the symptoms, I wish there were other safe treatments outside of expensive stressful vet visits.

I hope so, there are so many pets that have different issues and they are really sweet to keep you company because they are always there.

Me too, I have a dog that's almost 12 that has lipomas on his feet. I have to keep him checked regularly.

Hiya apples,
Personally I don“t have Cats although I do love them too. Does sound like he needs some special kind of tests to make sure that he would be getting the right treatment as well.
Our Dog was at the start very sad and listless and would not eat very much now look at him go.
He runs around most of the Day eats a lot but not too much either and drinks plenty of fresh water.
So sorry to hear about your Cat and I hope he is much better by now.xxx
