Star wars is the best film I've ever seen ! The act,the efects ...just perfect !

Star wars, made by George Lucas is one of the best films ever created ! In the late 80's when the first of the films arrived in global cinema theaters it was something new ! Something that people haven't seen before ! I think that was the period that changed the film industry and more exactly the cinema forever. People used to watch old western films most of the of course black and white. Can you imagine what was the impact after seeing the First Lucas Saga ? IT was incredible !!!
Now 30 years later this films are on the top list of every chart ! Yesterday I watched the last of the movies I think it was made in 2006-2008 in this period ! I probably watch it for a 5th time and it still grabs my mind ! I thought I watch it for a first time , really enjoyed it !
This movies are on top of my list, I am a cinema man if I can say that for myself, really enjoy watching films and going to the theaters ! Star wars, The Godfather and The Shawshenk Redemption are the top films of all time !

Star Wars was released in 1977, not the late 80s. And films hadn't been black and white for a long time.
I think you also underrate other 70s films: SW eclipsed few of the great titles in the decade and was really only a tour de force in science fiction and public accessibility terms. Jaws preceded it in 1975 with great success and Close Encounters came out the same year - also with great success, don't forget.
The 1970s was a very good decade for all sorts of film, with a lot of disaster movies, oddly enough (Poseidon Adventure, all the Airports, Towering Inferno and so on), but also great stuff like The Godfather, Taxi Driver, Marathon Man and even Rocky. And the first Alien in 1979, one of the best sci-fi movies ever made in my opinion.
But yes, the SW series changed cinema, especially the science fiction genre. Before Star Wars, just about every SF film showed the future as bright and shiny: SW was one of the first to show it as dirty, corrupt and so on.

Wikipedia is a wonderful thing. 
Seriously, though, I remember a lot of the films from that decade (though I'm not THAT old), especially Star Wars - as a very young SF geek, it was awesome for me, too. One of my brothers brought me back a SW "10 year anniversary" t-shirt from Universal Studios when he went to the States and I wore it almost constantly.
I forgot to mention that the biggest impact SW had - apart from on the SF film genre - was that its effects were absolutely stunning (as I believe you mentioned) for the time. I remember there was a landspeeder in a film just a year before and the different was incredible: that one looked awful, unrealistic and downright dangerous, whereas Mr. Skywalker's one really did look like a working anti-grav vehicle in everyday use.

I love Star Wars, it's an awesome epic action-filled saga and I think all the films are great fun to watch over and over again. Yes, I said all the films. I even like the prequels.
I'm not a completely hardcore fan like some people I know who have read all the extended universe novels, beaten all the video games, and claim to be a Jedi knight half the time (seriously, I know multiple people like this) but I consider myself a nice casual fan.

the star wars series of films are among my favs of all time.watching a new hope on the big screen in 1977 was an amazing experience and not many films can ready do that.star wars changed the movie industry and it will take a long before this happens again.look at the credits on most movies and there will be a link back to ILM,skywalker sound etc.modern films prove that with CGI anything is possible but you still need a great plot and characters to bring it to live.

Although Star Wars is not my favorite movie, however, it is a great and classical science fiction movie and I like it. It is very amazing that even if when we watch it today, we will not think it is a very outdated movie. There are many good and creative concepts in this movie.

Most of my friends told that the star wars is the best film. But i did not see the film till now. I will try to see the film today itself.
Ans also one of the film i like very much is final destination. I like all the parts of that film. I have seen it many times.
