I am not a technical person when it comes to updates to new advents of technology that is why I am having trouble choosing what kind of computers now are the best. Well of course I am looking for a cheaper computer since I don't have any work yet. Which is better, a laptop or a desktop?

Simple... Laptops or Desktops u can get the cheaper versions and performance once. I would suggest, if you want portability and ready to sacrifice bit on the performance side, go for a laptop. If you don't move much and want to get better performing machine( only a bit ok) then you can go for a desktop.

Welcome to mylot, niceetee. Speaking of a computer, it depends on your preference for it. Personally, I love to use a laptop computer as I have been used to it and it is more convenient if I have to move it from one place to another. But it is not bad to have a desktop computer as well if you don't need to take it out of your house to use. So either has its advantages. Take care and happy mylotting.

oh thank you for welcoming me. I'm happy mylot has good people. I'm looking forward for more conversations out here since I love talking to people. Speaking of computers, yeah I think it really depends on the person since she will be the one using it. Actually personally I don't have any problem of it's laptop or desktop because both still uses internet! The advantage however if I use desktop, it will stay in the house so my family can use it but to laptops, I will have the full privilege of using it.

I still prefer the desktop, but that is because of my poor eyesight. My experience of cheap laptops has not been good. I advice you to spend more money to buy a decent one. Just search the Internet for various brands and read the "horror stories"!

yes of course internet is the best reference but I still have confusions since I can't see and touch them personally. You had a bad experience about cheap laptops? That's not cool since I don't want to lose my 20/20 vision. Maybe I'll ask someone who really knows how to scrutinize brands of computers.

I currently have a laptop, but I still prefer the power of a desktop. It will depend on how you will use your unit. I think there are lots of cheap laptops nowadays, but be always aware of what you buy, you might end up spending more than you ought to be. The better choice would be a desktop, with your own specifications, but since you said that you're really not into tech things, then maybe you can just search for a good but cheap laptop. And when you search, try to search for issues hounding it.

when you buy a computer, first thing that you need to do is to determine the purpose of using it. If it's for personal use, surfing the net, for gaming or for business. Next thing to consider is the budget. If you are traveling most of the time, then go for a laptop. If it's for business, like online business then you can choose a desktop. Ensure also to choose good quality of a product. Most of the users they preferred to buy computer packages,as everything is included already. Like the accessories (speakers, mouse, KB, etc). Try also reading reviews before buying the package as you might encounter issues for that particular model. And the most important thing check the warranty. Usually, it's 1yr warranty for parts and labor. Hope this helps!
