Random acts of kindness?

People talk about random acts of kindness, or of passing on or passing forward kindnesses given to you. I've been given gifts I could never repay before, but never felt I had anything to give to anyone else. I do remember seeing a homeless man one time on the way to work. I had made two sandwiches for my lunch that day and I heard a strong voice in my head tell me to give that man one of my sandwiches. Well, by then, I had passed him by and had to drive around a bend, turn around and come back and find him again. But I listened to the voice, feeling a little silly, and gave my extra sandwich to the man. I remember feeling more sheepish than satisfied at the time. Have you ever done a random act of kindness?

I like to do little things like this, as it puts a smile on my face for the rest of the day. I like to do things around the house that my Mother normally does, so that when she gets home she doesn't have to do this and she will be able to spend time relaxing and won't have to worry about things that need to be done like normal. I also like to leave a couple of coins in vending machines so that the next person will be able to get something for free. I also do this in phone boxes because it makes people smile when they find that they have something for free.

That's awesome. It makes you feel good, gives you a smile, and gives them a smile also.

Many times and this is the first time that I call it "a random act of kindness". Only when I read your post di I realise it could be called that way. I thought at those times that it was the only thing I could do, I did it and did not put a name to it or thought about it afterwards.
