Will it ever be possible for human beings to 'know' what happens at death.?

We all know that the material body that we possess today will someday die. It is a fact of life, yet no one can show with certainty what happens at death. Many people have tried to explain it but so far no one has been able to do so. I am well aware that Christians will say that Jesus Christ rose from the dead, yet there is no more proof of that than there is of the existence of Joseph Smith's 'plates of gold' on which the Book of Mormon was supposedly written. Aside from the Bible itself, there is little, if any proof, that such a person as Jesus Christ ever live! I'm talking about proof here and not faith, not the personal belief that many of us have. In recent years, much has been written about the near death experience, and this seems to be as close as we can get to an explanation, but even that is uncertain. Was the person just hallucinating? Was it their personal faith just imagining things? Perhaps some day it will be possible, but for now it seems we will all have to wait until it is our time to know with certainty.

I guess, we will only know when we die, if do become some other kind of life form. We could die and there's nothing after that. We could die and one day be resurrected. Until we actually die and I for one am in no hurry. I actually don't even want to die, unless I'm in excruciating pain. At this point, to me is the most sensible explanation. As far as Jesus is concerned, there are a number of eyewitnesses of his resurrection and their testimonies have been collected in the Bible. There is Matthew, Mark, John, Peter, Paul.

I guess not. But I believe there's some good that comes out of it also. Not knowing what lies ahead gives more meaning to life. If you have faith or if you believe in heaven and hell, it gives you some perspective or influence to do all the good you can and avoid evil as often as you can.

Hi jaimz, Thank you for sharing your take on this and you make a good point. Maybe it's best not to know. I don't really think that we have to believe in heaven and hell in order to live a good life though. Someday we may all know the truth. Blessings.

I am not sure that we can ever have proof. We have people talking about it but is it just a dream for them?

Hi TrvArrngr, Thank you for sharing and I guess the answer is we are not sure. I know that I could never be an atheist but I have no proof but only what is within me. Is it just a dream? I don't think so but maybe it is. we will all know the truth soon as life is short. Blessings.
