Oh yesterday. There was a strong typhoon and almost all has declared suspension of work and suspension of classes. I was just at home the wind was so strong quite a lot of things going and flying around! Our Electricity was cut off 8AM yesterday and we have not received any update yet. This morning on my way to work, the streets are so cluttered with leaves, broken trunks and even some woods all over! the wind sure was strong! For those in the country and has experienced it... how was your day yesterday?

We were allowed to go home early yesterday to give employees ample to go home and not get stuck in traffic on their way home. There was also a forecast that the weather will get worse in the afternoon. When I left home around 8AM, we don't have electricity anymore, when I reached home from work there's still no power but it was restored at 6pm. On our way home the weather is not as bad compared earlier and it's mostly quiet that I thought that the typhoon's gone. It's only after watching TV that I realized that it brought havoc in some of the areas in Metro Manila.

Our street was a mess! lots of trees have been uprooted, and hundreds of leaves all over. its really bad that the weather was that bad too and that the people in some areas have to suffer... we had no electricity until this early morning! =(

yes, it is all over the news. the destruction, devastation and wrath of the typhoon pedring. i am glad that it is gone and out of the philippines. yesterday, i simply stayed at home, watching news and reading. i was fortunate to have electricity all day. i stay in quezon city, but some places are still without electricity here. i believe in the resilience of pinoy. we can bounce back from this.

Yesterday was a bit scary. The wind is so strong and even making some strange noises. I'm glad we have electricity power all through out the day. Unfortunately we don't have enough food stocked at home so my husband needed to go out and do some groceries. He went out yesterday at around 4pm when the wind was not that strong and the rain subsided a bit. When I've got out this afternoon I must say that the typhoon didn't make a lot of damage in our area, I'm happy it didn't.

Typhoon Pedring - Strong wind and heavy rain
I thank God there was not much destruction in our place. The wind was strong but not as strong as Ondoy's. There were rain after but not as heavy as Ondoy's. I prayed really hard and asked God it would not be another Ondoy. I remembered that half of my hometown was submerged into flood during Ondoy and it took months before the flood dried out in places near the sea. I'm thankful God heard my prayer. Our place is safe. But so sad for those who suffered greatly. I saw in the news how Pedring hit some places. I did not really think it was that strong in those places because it was not felt that way here. Anyway, the storm is over. I pray no more strong storms will come.

Our Electricity has not been cut and were thankful for that but the heavy rain in our place make us nervous as it might over flow the river near us just like what happened during the typhoon Ondoy. But Thanks God because it never happened.

Hi chiyosan! I was stranded at our office yesterday. I went to work at 7AM and although there were announcements of classes being suspended, there was still no announcement of work suspension. So I went to work and after half an hour or so, the announcement came that government work was also suspended for the day. I could not go home that time though because the wind was so strong and the rain was strong, too. The wind was even howling. Even here at our office, there are lots of debris scattered around. The mango tree here at the office even lost most of its fruits. Such a waste. I was only able to get home at 2PM when the wind and rain subsided. There were lots of debris in the streets. There was no heavy traffic because there were only a few jeepneys and other private vehicles on the road. A lot of establishments were closed. When I got off the tricycle and as I was walking toward home, the wind was still strong and I thought I was going to fly around. It's a good thing that the weather has calmed down now. Oh, we didn't experience any blackout yesterday but there were power interruptions. The lights were on and off so we had to turn everything off until the power stabilized.

it's one of the reasons i decided to stay in this city far away from my province where typhoon, heavy rains and flood are common experience every year. the weather or yesterday's typhoon did not left any bad scenario, at least in cebu which i heard from the news and personal experience. we only experienced cold and heavy wind in the evening and until the morning with slightly heavy rains. but in the noon time, the weather is back to normal while pedring was reported in the NCR.

Yesterday power cut off starts as early as 4am that last for 10 hours. That was really bad, good thing the rain is not that heavy so flood was never a great problem with low areas, thu, there are still places that are affected with floods. The roads are full of trash, fallen trees and lamp post. Hope everything is fine now.

It was hell as the strong winds uprooted two of my guava tress and my beloved malunggay tree has to be cut down because it posed dangers to the swinging electric cables. Today we're still clearing the front yard of fallen leaves and trash that we're flown in from somewhere. It was hell yesterday as UP Diliman Chancellor declared that only classes in the morning will be suspended but will resume at 1 pm. My God, my daughter's class is at 2 pm. It was good that CHED had declared that all classes in the universities suspended and that includes Graduate classes. I hope UP Diliman chancellor had his good time spending the afternoon at UP Diliman alone!

Actually, Pedring passed by our province the other day , 26th. We were made to go home lunchtime, when the governor declared it as the signal rose to no.2. Thankfully, Pedring wasn't that strong in our place because the next day our electricity was restored and that night the wind subsided. The next day, there weren't many trees that were brought down by the winds. Though, there are some bridges that was again unpassable that night but the next day, it was already passable. At least, it didn't harm our province that much. I just hope other places wasn't ravaged much too.

We also have a black-out but it was only during the day. On Monday, power was cut off unexpectedly and lasted for the whole. We were able to recover power during the night but we didn't expect to have the same routine the next day, which was yesterday. I had to do all my reading yesterday and I went the power went back last night, I stayed up all night doing all the computer work. at least now, we have power all day. I guess the only thing that this black-out tells me is that there is life without electricity. It made me appreciate that kind of situation when it can't do anything with any electronic appliance. I was able to do things that I have putting off (like my readings, household chores and checking the housing for leaks). I also able to recover some sleep after benign stressed for a few days. of course, not everything that the typhoon brought is a blessing. There are others who lost their lives and property. I guess that the only thing is that some of us are more prepared and a little less stubborn when people tells to evacuate.

We did not experience any long power outage and thank God my city was spared, we had no floods that took a long time to recede and damage was minimal but I'm really sorry for the other parts of the country and I was surprised when I saw what happened in Manila on T.V., We use to live there when I was a kid, in Malate and it never flooded there that way before, even the U.S. embassy was affected and they had to stop operations.
