Tonight, Jews all over the world begin the celebration of Rosh Hashanah, The Jewish New Year. It is the year 5773 in The Jewish / Hebrew Calendar: older than some but not as old as some others.
I wish all mylotters who observe or celebrate a sweet, happy and healthy New Year. Also, a profitable New Year.
It would be nice to see peace in The Middle East this New Year but I will not hold my breath waiting. The problems in the Middle East have been going on a very long time, much longer than recent history or the present. All one has to do is read The Bible to see how long the conflicts have gone on. It is a very complicated situation, one that will not be easily solved, if ever.

Thanks you for the good wishes. I usually go to religious services but I have just returned from Los Angeles and have sone jet lag. I am going to see if I can watch religious services on line. I was able to one year.
I plan to eat a special meal. I do not eat meat very often but will have a small roast beef meal. I live next door to a wonderful organic supermarket and plan to buy a prepared meal.
Thanks for the reminder about the jelly donuts. I forgot. My wonderful organic supermarket does not carry anything so ordinary as jelly donuts but there is another supermarket within a short walking distance that does. I am going to get a jelly donut for later.
I am planning to attend religious services for Yom Kippur.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I have seen that site...I was in San Antonio a few years ago and was very ill...too ill to go anywhere. I watched part of it online, but it was just too Reform for me.
As far as the year goes...There is a lot of misinformation online. A lot of times you think that you are at a bonafide Jewish site and then you get to the end and find that it is Messianic. There is a lot of garbage on those sites. If you do not read all the way to the end, you do not even know you are reading garbage...

I made it to Yom Kippur Services and so glad that I did. The services were wonderful but I confess to getting cranky. I do not fast but I cut way back on food and I get terribly hungry.
We have a wonderful choir at my temple. I love music and need it at services.
There is a lot of deception on line and not just limitted to on line. Messianic Jews are known for deception and sneakiness. I do not mind that they are Jewish Christians but I do not like the tactics that they employ to confuse and deceive Jewish Jews.
I am Reform so I prefer the Reform service. Some of the so called Jewish groups are questionable to me and even a little suspicious but then so are a lot of other groups.

I am embarrassed. I believe that you are right. It is the year 5772. It was not a typo. I saw something that said it was the year 5773. I even wrote it down so that I would get it right when I began a discussion on mylot!!!
I could not make services at my Temple. I have just returned from vacation and I was suffering from jet lag. I was exhausted.
However, I did attend services online. A Temple in Ohio has streaming services -- third year. There were persons from all over the globe watching online and participating in the chat room.
What a blessing the internet is (sometimes).
I am planning to go to Temple on Yom Kippur.
Have a sweet New Year. Happy 5772.
