To flu shot or not to flu shot...that is the question.

Where do you stand on the flu shot? Do you get the flu shot? My daughter got it one year when she just happened to be at the doctor around that time. Other than that we've never had the flu shot. I haven't had the flu I think since childhood. I'm a stay at home mom, so for the most part I am not out where I would get it unless the kids bring it home. There is so much talk of it being dangerous that I don't really like the idea of giving it to my kids. Plus they say that the strain going around is usually resistant to the one you got from the shot. So what do you think?

I will never consider to have the flu shot. As I don't think it can really prevent from the flu. And actually the flu type will have a change every year. So the flu shot you take may not work well for you. And some may even have a side effects on you. There is always a risk to take such kind of shot. I love China

I have got the flu shot most every year since I have worked at the company I work for. They have someone come there and give us one if we want it. I was really leery about the H1N1 shot though...I didn't get that one. It has quite the history. I don't think I will get that one.

we've gotten flu shots in the past and still ended up sick one time or another. I don't know that it's worth all the fuss if we still get sick?!?! And it's so hard to tell a flu from a virus anyway. This year I think we will save our money as washing our hands when we get home from school or other public places makes the difference for us. And washing your hands constantly is less scary to a child than a nurse with a needle in hand! (btw... they are always out of the nasal kind whenever we've gone)

I haven't had the flu shot and am unlikely to as well - I think just because I have to pay for it I wouldn't anyway as I cannot really afford to be paying out for things! I haven't had any flu shots since school and have never suffered so I am thinking I have survived so far so I will take my chances. Lol

I got shot last year but still I had the flu because the doctor said I got a different flu virus strain which makes my shot useless and ineffective. This year I did not have it as well as my daughter and just hope we will not catch the virus!

That's what I was worried about too. I didn't want to put this stuff in my children or myself and still end up with the flu.

I am not a fan of putting something in my body just cause. I don't do flu shots and I don't get them for my children. I think they work for some but for me, I am not a fan.

We don't bother with the flu shot. My son got one once, and he got the flu that year really bad. That was the only year he ever got the flu. I've never had the flu, just bad colds. The rest of the kids have never had the flu, just bad colds.

My doc recommends the flu shot for me because of health issues but I still don't do it and I won't get it for my children. I believe in washing hands, eating healthy, getting sleep and avoiding sick people and so far, so good. I am unsure about flu shots - they were recalled, they don't cover all types of flus and you are, in essence, inviting the stuff into your body. Somehow, I just don't think that's a good thing.

I also often experience almost every change of season and I really hate the flu .
