In my previous discussion, I had told you people that I was going to begin reading the book The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien, which is a prequel to The Lord of the Rings series. The book really joins the threads, even from the beginning of Time, when the One, Eru, or otherwise known as Illuvatar only existed, his creation of the Valar, the Firstborn, who created the world of Arda in their songs, and each note of the Valar created different aspects of the world as we see it. Then came the Eldar, the elves after which came the race of Men. The whole narrative is carefully spread out so that each event leads to another and finally leads up to the epic War of the Ring, which many are familiar with. One really feels a sense of completeness after reading this book, if you had read LOTR before, and wanted to know more of the origin of it all. I had already bought the next book before finishing up with this one, and am quite as excited to get it going. It's Unfinished Tales by the same author. Though this book isn't as cohesive as The Silmarillion, but still, it should prove to be as good a read as the others. Just thought of sharing my feelings woth all you nice people out there. Do feel free to share your views and feelings, too.

I have never read that, but now I think I should! Don't know why I didn't before. Is it written in the same style as The Lord of the Rings?
