If someone asks whether you can make a thousand dollars per month from online activity, you definitely know that this person is a newbie. When we were new to online earning, we probably had the same idea. As time goes on, we find that it is possible to earn a bit here and there, and good enough as a part time income, but we stop thinking about making a few thousand dollars per month. What do you think is the realistic expectation of online income? Do you find that newbies have very unrealistic expectation of the amount of money we can earned online?

I've never thought I could earn thousand dollars per month, but I thought it would be easier to get a few hundreds. Before I began to use international sites, I used to write articles in one site and it is a good way to earn money if you have a good free time. But nowadays I am not having the same amount of free time, so I started to look for sites where I could do things quickly, like in mylot, where I can login and logoff a lot of times. In this kind of sites, you really get less money, but you have less work too. I've seen some people, here in mylot, saying that they can earn a few hundreds in a month. But I think you have to work a lot to get it. Nowadays I just think my online money as a bonus for me. Happy mylotting.

Hi Lctravenisk, I wonder why you are not continuing with your article writing. Even if you are not able to put in a lot of time to write articles, just writing one or two articles every day can make more money than using mylot. After all, you still have to type a lot here. The payment is good enough for taking part in discussion thread, but there is no passive income. You need to login at least once a month, and make a comment. For those who did not login for three months, their earnings will be confiscated. I also think of online earning as a bonus. if I were to rely on online earnings, I think I would be worse than a beggar. Those beggars can make even more money in a day than ours in a month.

Hi Lctravenisk, you have set a very high expectation for article writing. Most websites do not have such expectation. Even if English is not your first language, you can make more money from article writing. Most websites just require that your articles meet the minimum requirement of article directory standard. If you were to write a 400 words article, and used more than 20 minutes, you are plainly wasting your time. I think you can check out some articles in Triond, and Ezinearticles. You can see what I mean. Most people in Ezinearticles are not even writing their own articles. They hire ghostwriters to write for them at 1 cent per word or even less. You cannot expect good standard from paying such amount. That is nobody really does serious research.

I know I can earn more from internet articles, but in mylot I just write about my feelings, thoughts and opinions, and I don't need to do this in a very accurate language. To write articles you need to take a lot of care with your language, needs to look for other people opinions and a lot of other researches need to be done, as I did this. In mylot I can login, answer a post in 2 minutes and logoff without problems. Probably if you were to rely on online earnings, you would do a better research to find better ways to earn money. As I said, you can write articles as a good way to get online money and you can try affiliate marketing. Happy mylotting.

I actually thought the same thing when I started doing online stuff. But the thing is the people posting online asking me to join them in this or that site actually said that they are earning that much money. And I believed them, that actually led me to start doing and looking for online opportunities. But as I go along, and after a few months I realized I'm not getting what I was promised, then I started to read and start from the beginning. I tried as much as possible to read and go through the trainings provided by some websites I joined before. And some of it are fruitful, one site led me to this forum. And now, I know better, online earnings is more of an extra income. and it doesn't come that easy and that fast.

Hi LolliRuri23, glad to hear that you have decided to learn and experimented for yourself. Most newbies do not even reach this stage. They just cry scams and they give up on online earning. It is sad that their greed and laziness make them ignore the right ways of making money, while at the same time, they are willing to fork out thousands to learn those impractical get rich quick scheme. If you are aiming to build up passive income stream, you need to put in even more effort and time for very little money in the beginning. The first month is unforgettable, in that we put in so many hours to earn pennies. After a few years of hard work, then we can see the steady income even when we are not working as hard. That is the reality of online earnings.

Hi LoliRuri23, hope you can make a success of it. I like to check out those writers in Associated Content with more than ten million page views. They are the ones who had worked very hard consistently for many years. I think if they can make it, we can make it too. As long as we put in the same effort, and have the right techniques, it really is a matter of time for passive income to stream in.

I really have not thought about it enough to come to that conclusion. I think that they are just so eager to see how much they will make and that is exciting to them. It makes them aim high and try to make as much as they can. I do get tired of the question on how much others make and how to make a huge amount on here. But hey they wonder about it, so I guess they should ask.

Hi Ladygator, I also get very tired of the same old question about making money! It seems that every newbie wants to know whether you can earn a hundred dollars per month here. I think they can just search the discussion threads instead of asking the same question over and over. For those who are realistic, they will stay on, and enjoy the site. Most just die off after a few posts, since they can see that earning enough to reach payout month after month is hard work.

I think most of us who use the internet for some online earnings has the same expectations when we were newbies. Although some did not expect for a thousand dollars a month but at least we do thought that we can earn some modest amount from the web. Even though we did not post it in some forums like myLot but to our mind, we anticipate to earn as much.

The ones that always give me a chuckle are the ones that say, "Tell me a way I can earn $1000 fast" or "How can I earn $100 per day online easy?" So many people seem to think that there is some magic way to get rich online AND that someone will give them the magic formula just for asking. While making such sums of money aren't out of the realm of possibility, it certainly isn't easy or quick. It takes time and effort. Hard work is how you make money online or offline but most people don't want to do that. There seems to be an endless supply of people that want something for nothing and they think they can find it on the internet. Oh well... They'll learn.

Hi Millertime, yes, I see a lot of those stupid questions too. I think those people really have an empty head. They did not even bother to ask themselves where the money comes from. Someone must pay in order for others to receive. If they expect easy work, and they expect someone to pay them $100 per day for doing practically nothing, they are taking the rest of the world as fools.

since the high-earning sites don't seem to sell for much in comparison to a real-world business with comparable cash-flows.

Every person who asks how to earn money online is a newbie! And none of them will earn because they can't read FAQ's and guidelines, they don't know how to use a search engine even, and they don't want to do any work.

Hi Petersum, yes, I think you are as sick as me from reading questions posted by so many newbies about how to earn money here. They are asking such questions practically every day. I think they can read the FAQ or even past discussion threads. It will save everyone a lot of time.

Some of them, yes, but I think it's a bit unfair to say that they all do. But sure, you definitely get more realistic and jaded the longer you try to earn money online. I took me over a year to start making nice amounts, so for me it's always a bit sad when I see people who want to do it over night... I simply know it just doesn't happen like that most of the time.

Hi Puccagirl, fortunately you never give up after a few days of trying to make money online. I think many newbies still do not know the difference between passive income and upfront payment. While mylot is paying us for our active effort, it does not have passive income component. Certain websites such as Triond, have passive income component, but the problem is that passive income is too slow. It takes ages to make the first cent, and then the next cent. I also feel the same way towards those newbies who expect a thousand dollars per month. Even though they claim they can work hard, but their greed for more money shows in the post. They are more likely to fall victim to those scams that promise easy money with less effort.

I think that people expect they can make a ton of money online without doing any work. It's not easy to earn extra money but you have to keep working at it because it's not easy to earn a lot of money, unless you can get a lot of traffic to a website, you have to find ways to earn extra online.

Hi Reviewmemedia, getting a lot of traffic to a website is very tough work by itself. It is even tougher than writing ten articles per day. Some webmasters say that you need to use an hour to write, and then ten hours to get traffic. That is very true. Getting traffic online requires getting tons of incoming links, and using forums to create an online presence. Some people use mailing lists, and they have to maintain the interest of every visitor. It is very tough to get a new website up and running.

Even as a newbie back then my expectation is not that gastronomic. That is what gullible people believe in. Who would be paid a big amount for exerting a little effort? Anyhow, as a newbie I become familiar with the online scams that most newbies mostly fall for and luckily I was never a victim. Several attempts were made but you have to be wiser than them.

Hi Starrose, fortunately you are very careful and you have common sense. Most newbies are too gullible in that they are willing to fork out $40 or more to learn some magic formula for making easy money. It takes a few months for newbies to make the same amount online. I think if we just keep to the policy of not spending a single cent, we will be all right. if a website pays us for work, we should not even pay a single cent.

Well, you won't know until you try! When I first became interested in making money online, I thought I could make like $100 a week until I searched a few websites and was horrified at how little I can earn. I know, I was so noob back then. Now, after experimenting with so many sites and abandoned so many of them because they simply wasted my time. But I have stuck to some websites that I can make a decent amount and I just spend like 2 hours day making some extra cash. It isn't much but it is something, better than nothing. just some cash that I could use to buy some online things, nothing big. But if I told a friend who is new to this, she'll simply laugh at me and say how I'm wasting my time making so little and how come I can't make $50 a day. If only she knew how tough it is to make some cash online....

I am a newbie and I couldn't agree more with you. :) That was my first thought. "I need to earn more and fast". But I am glad I realized that now, you have to earn it, really earn it that it's not like a faucet of cents. Maybe you're a bit annoyed but I guess this is perfectly normal especially when a site like myLot is famous as a money generating site. :D

i think they are expecting too much. soon they will realize it. it's not impossible to earn a lot of money from online activity. all you need is "thousands of active downline" and it's almost impossible to have thousands active downline for each site you join. i'm not saying impossible but almost impossible.

Hi Tedkur, I, for one, will never get thousands of active downline. It is hard even to get one good downline. Most of my referrals for mylot lasted only a week. They stop when they see how hard they have to work to earn just a dollar, not to mention reaching the minimum payout. I think those of us who are down to earth, and enjoy using this site will earn enough to get payment every month. I have long given up hope of making even a hundred dollar per week.
