I got to ride on airplanes quite a bit entering the Army. So I really did get to see the stewardesses professionalism. If you are watching this series, this clip I am adding here will give you an birds eye view of the very first women on Pan Am. Hope you enjoy and respond with your discussions to a classic. http://abc.go.com/watch/clip/pan-am/SH014194950000/PL55126738/VD55143244/the-real-stewardesses-of-pan-am-part-1/behind-the-scenes

Since its back in the early 60's when stewardesses started, they really did not get to have much of a love life. Choices had to be made as much for them as a woman going in the Army back then. Marriage and Pregnancy was not an option in the 60's and 70's for the stewardesses or WAC's. hope you get to view it. It is really refreshing to see a genuine show that does not show everyone up in bed like most of the shows now.

I am tired of the bedroom scene, it use to be they closed the door and you had to assume what was happening, now its graffic detail. Yippy! I am happy that you are enjoying the tv series, better than pollotics!

I flew some when I was in the Army back in the Vietnam era, around 1969 to 1971 for me, and did it military standby. During that time the people in uniform were not treated very well by the general public, especially those of a similar age. So one thing that made up for that and the sometimes long waits to get on flights was how nice the stewardesses were to everyone in uniform.

If you felt uncomfortable as a man, you should have been a woman in uniform. People actually thought we were enlisted to entertain the men. well I sure didn't. Everywhere I went everyone was like a brother or sister to me. It was awesome.

It is amazing how things have changed. The women all seemed so classy and the passengers would wear suits and dresses. Now anyone can be a flight attendant no matter how they look or how tall they are, and the passengers just want to be comfortable and wear shorts and sweatsuits. It makes you want the older times back!

I finally just watched it. Yes I would love to go back to those days! Everyone dressed so clean cut. Have to admit I even looked sharp back in those days but I was in the Army! LOL at least our Platoon Sgt did NOT snap a girdle or such LOL
