Hello myLotters. We all know that smoking is not good for health at all. I know it is pretty hard to quit smoking, once one gets addicted to it. I was a chain smoker once, smoking two pckas of cigarettes a day, almost non-stop. I tried to quit, trying different ways, but was not successful. Then, one time, I started getting sore throat, very severe, so painful. I knew it was coming from smoking. So, I tols myself - "you better quit smoking, otherwise the sore throat problem will get worse". So, I made the determination to quit. Not easy, but I succeeded ! Oh, that was quite easy ! Why ? All it needed was the will and the determination ! That was it !! Are you a smoker ? Or, have you quit ?

That is really cool. You deserve to be proud of yourself for getting yourself to quit. I'm just glad I never started smoking. I have a hard enough time trying to lose weight.

There are good ways to lose weight for sure. But since I'm on disability, my exercise options are severely limited. For a time I was bedridden, and I really have never gotten all that weight back off.

Good for you! Your will and determination will get you to places. Smoking kills brain cells you know. Anyway, my boyfriend is a smoker and although he doesn't smoke when I'm around, I know how much he smokes and how many sticks a day he consumes. I hate the smell of his breath after smoking. I keep telling him to minimize it until such time he can have the strength to stop. But i really don't see that happening soon.

Yeah, since I was a chain smoker before, I know how he feels about it, how addicted one can be. Well, I hope some day he will be able to quit it, once and for all. Best wishes to you and your boyfriend !!

Thank you! :) How long did it take you the moment you start to stop smoking until you finally have no cravings for it?

i dont smoke and never been a smoker but my wife was. when we first met she smokes a lot. but i can no longer remember if she smokes a lot like you do. but she always said she quit when we entered a relationship. she always say to friends that i have no vices, i dont smoke and i dont drink so she was so ashamed of her self that she is the lady but she smokes and drink. so she quit, and she said it was easy because there was a good reason behind quitting. it was easy for you too for you have a great reason to quit. good for you my friend. clap clap clap for that.

I'm not a smoker but I'm fully aware that smoking is not good for the health. You're right. It may be hard to quit at first but if you really have the determination to quit, then you will surely succeed. Good job because you've succeeded and at the same time, you chose the right path and that is, to quit smoking. :)

Thank you. Yes, I chose the right path, and I was also so glad that I found the way to get on to the right path. In fact, I wanted to share my experience about smoking and encourage fellow-smokers to find the way too.
