I think the location would be a big factor to consider. If you are planning to start a cafe business and the location would be near a school or schools or any place with lots of people (potential customers) then I think it would be profitable. Also you should check if there are already other cafes existing near the area.

You are welcome reinykwan. Good luck to you, hope you find a good product or service to sell in your area that would be profitable. I hope to have a business someday too, I cannot afford it right now.

I totally agree with all that you said brew. Your business should be strategically located. It has to have a niche when the time comes for you to operate. See to it that the people or company around that place are those that are into drinking coffee. Students are not fond of coffees so most likely, you must target a company that caters to coffee drinkers , like a call center.

good assessment friends, my location is not too strategic to attract people, but I think our service and our product also affect to attract customers. look at the situation around my location is good idea, it helps me to consider what product I will sell. thanks so much

Hello Reinykwan, There is every chance of success or failure when starting a business. You need to come with a good business plan and plan for cashflow for the next 3 years. More businesses fail because of cashflow problem more than anything else.

First of all you have to get yourself a plan, what is your target audience, and project how you are able to profit from there. How long does it take to break even and then how long before you can make more? From there you would know how much money you need and how much you would have to prepare if there is a crisis to ensure that your business would continue. by this simple discussion, I might not be able to help you with your business but I hope I can help you cover some areas that would be important for you. And I do wish you every success. Do update us on your business.

dear reiny, I think that was good business option..I observed many cafe business having successfuly setup in my place..They usually has own theme depends on your niche, as long as the atmosphere is cozy, food price is affordable and location is strategic, it will have big chance to succeed. I suggest you to start develop business plan and learn from other cafe in your town and most importantly hire somebody you can trust..maybe family member are good for start if you can't found one.. good luck and wish you all the best for your cafe..

Consider your customer characteristic for your cafe. It depend on what kind cafe business that you want start: traditional, modern or cyber cafe (depend on your capital). If you don't have enough capital but your place close to crowded place, traditional will be enough. But if you had enough capital, consider to open cyber cafe. This become trend in the future. You need specific plan for these like pricing, location/distribution, competition, branding etc.

I gonna consider a few things: 1. Competitor. I believe there some similar business like you. Make survey/survey on them 2. Operational Cost. Calculate all possible cost like cost of labor, raw material, electricity, internet cost etc. (you know better than me) 3. ROI. Predict your investment return. 4. Study price sensitiveness on your customer characteristic. Example: If your target market is students, you can't give high price on them 5. If you can predict how much customers will come to your place/day, it help to calculate your price. But this just my opinion, there must be something missing in my opinion

sometimes a small thing can change everything, I think you're right I need to take survey then I can compare my price to the other cafe, thanks for your opinion

I put free wi fi access in my cafe, I know it will become a trend, and I combine my cafe between traditional and modern, because people around my location is worker and students also tourist. But I have no plan about price I still confused about it. I should learn more about cafe management. any idea?

I agree with those who say you need a good business plan and a way to stay solvent for three years, the average time for a business to turn profitable. One of our commercial tenants is a coffee shop across from the high school. She sells coffee and other beverages and sandwiches made elsewhere and sold with the beverages. I guess she isn't licensed to actually prepare food there. It's a tougher business than most because you never know how many people you will be cooking for or how much food you will need. If you have too much, it might spoil if you can't freeze and use later for something else. I think a cafe has got to be one of the toughest businesses, but you look young enough to have the energy to pull it off. One of my ex-Sunday school pupils owns a restauant in Ashland, Oregon, and she seems to be doing well. I hope someday I can visit it. You do need a location with lots of foot traffic. The best of luck to you.

I speculate with this business, thank you for reminding me about the profit and loss, I will sell various of beverage and various of snack, I set my system to making based of order, so the weakness might my customer have to be patient to get their food. so do you think this is a good business? we have the same thoughts.. thanks bagarad.

You did look in your picture like you are young enough to be able to work hard without developing health problems. Just do be careful not to push yourself too hard or it may catch up with you when you get older. I think it's wonderful you are willing to follow your dream and take this risk to make a better future for yourself. I wish you every success.

As all know business will have success or failure...it depends on how much you care about it and what measures you take to develop it....The main is to satisfy the customers.... It also depends on the area/location.....Like near some famous landmarks or busy/business places.... I don't have much experience in this but just gave out my opinion... Best of luck on that :)

starting cafe shop is the best idea.good business plan is very important.quality of the food is very important in food business.quality and taste of the coffee and food you serve only always attract the customers to come again to your shop.the other thing you should keep in mind is location.if it is near university or place with dense population you will get more customers.all the best for your business.

Cafe business is nice, but it doesn't guarantee a high profit. A rice will be much better or maybe a restaurant. Well I have been planning to put a business too, is just that I don't have the capital to start. In our place, I think the ideal business is water refilling station because I haven't seen any refilling out here. Maybe there is, but it is not really visible.

I assisted with my parents, they provide capital and also partly from my previous job. I hope you will get your own business someday. Refilling water is good idea. here, reffilling water is big business, everyone need water to drink.. :)
