Over the years I've knitted lots of scarves. During the last 5 years I branched out and started knitting sweaters, socks, mittens and lots of other things. I love the challenge of knitting and it's relaxing. Anyone out there love knitting as much as I do???

I love to knit, too, and I'm glad someone else does here! I learned to knit from a German lady who was my Dad's boss's wife, when I was a young teenager. After she taught me the basics, I got a book and learned to read patterns. I think I've made at least one of almost anything to be knitted over the years. Sweaters, socks, hats, mittens, gloves, jackets, hoodies, stuffed animals, doilies, dishcloths... Anyway, I see you're new here. I'm glad to meet you! Maybe we can talk about knitting!

myLot can eat up a lot of time, that's for sure! I don't crochet, either. I've tried, but just don't have the patience to learn it. As far as patterns go, the more you work with them, the easier it gets, just like everything else, I guess. What are you knitting right now?

I work full time so I can only get on here on my days off or after work. Right now I am teaching myself to knit a cable. It is very tricky. I have done one, a small one. I'm practicing now on make a larger one. I am hoping to get the knack of it so I can maybe knit a childs sweater. Then make one for myself.

Thanks paevey. I can see why Mylot is fun. Time consuming too lol. I've tried to crochet but I'm not good at it. I do keep trying though. Dish cloths are fun. I started with those. I'm not good at reading patterns but I keep trying. The tutorials really help!

What a better time to learn with winter just around the corner. The tutorials take you through any stitch you are learning. I didn't have anyone to teach me but I've always did the basic knit and purl over the years. It's only in the last little while that I've taken the risk and I must say I'm loving it!!!

I learned to knit in 7th grade. I remember making a tiny blanket. I wonder if I still have those skills.
