forgetting or loosing My mind is slipping

I am getting so tired of this. I put something down, come back to get it and it's gone. Now I am looking for my ID. I have spent the better part of this day looking for it. I swear I just seen it where I usually keep it, but it isn't there. This isn't the only thing I was hoping in my search that I would find the few other things that I lost, just in this room over the past 6 months. Never to be seen again. I have mail from over 5 years ago but can't find things that I just had in my hands. I probably should buy a bunch of those clapper things and put them on things that I am sure to loose. Like the next ID I get.

Many people spend a lot of time looking for what they need. Most of us do have a habit where to keep the keys, the post, the ID etc. It goes wrong if we come home and something in the ritual of that is disturbed. For example because our phone is ringing, we are in a hurry or we have to run straight through the toilet or someone broke in. I assume nobody can get things out of your place? The best thing to do is to clean up, inch by inch and give everything a place. Use a drawer (or box) to save important things in like your ID, your extra keys, drivers license, insurance papers, bank account booklet or what ever. Make a habit out of it to put your coat and shoes always on the same spot. Same with the keys you use. If you just lost something the best thing is to repeat what you did (as far as you can remember). For example can you remember you had it in your hands as you came home? Go outside, open your door and try to get that memory back what happend next. If you can't find it now, quit looking for it and try it in 1-3 days again. Might be you will see it then just in front of you. Hope you find your ID back, it's a lot of work over here to get a new one.

Thank you, you would be suprised at the cleaning that takes place when I am looking for something. I did finally have to give up, my daughter came home looked for it in the same places I did, and found it for me if I would have just looked behind this piece of paper, there it was. I was so dreading having to pay for another one. It is now back in it's propper place.

That's whats bothering me I do know why it isn't where I have put it for the last 6 months with all my other important cards. You know in my wallet. Every thing else is there.

I have tried that also. I keep coming up with something that I done a week ago as the last time I think that I saw it. I will go get another one and then find it. I am sure. Usually I don't need it but I am going to be doing something that I will need this for other wise I wouldn't care until it expired.
