Hello Friends, What is the most memorable day? Christmas or New Year. Christmas is the time of our family vacation. My wife and I are always planning to go out of town together with our children. New Year is the time of Family Reunion. This is the time for our Grandpa and Grandma. We celebrate Christmas and New Year but the most memorable day for us is New Year.

They are both equally memorable, probably the biggest holidays in the western part of the globe. I do like Christmas a little more because to me, Christmas is more on the sweet and warm side. With the Mistle-toe kissing and and snow, it just gives a very romantic and loving feel. New Years on the other hand is more exciting and fill with cheers and lights. More like partying and drinking with friends and family, although you can do that for Christmas but more likely on New Years. In New York, we have the ball drop and the pretty lights so it's very exciting!

Hi Aicragtrebor, for me, Chinese New Year is the best of all. I like the entertainment program in the TV, as well as those fortune tellers who predict the fortune of the 12 zodiac signs. Next year is the Dragon year, supposedly to be a very good year for businesses. Hopefully the economy will recover fully by end of next year.

I prefer Christmas usually, because I ALWAYS have palns on Christmas no matter what (with my family). Whereas some New Years 'celebrations' have been super, super lame. I don't know that I'm doing anything this year for new years...

Hm... As much as I want to say "both", I say Christmas weighs a bit more for me :D New Year is a start of a new... Well, year and it means fresh start, new beginnings, etc but then Christmas here in my country (Philippines) is something worth celebrating. I always love the feel of Christmas rush and even though I'm 26, I still enjoy doing late Christmas shopping with my parents. For me Christmas is a very joyous event. There's just something with Christmas that always amazes me. Maybe it's the Christmas Spirit? I really don't know :P Interesting topic, by the way

you have a point my friend.. I asked my children about this topic and they answer me Christmas.. I told them why? they answer is " because they have Gifts, Lots of Christmas lights, new dresses and go to Church every morning".. this is the beauty of this site because we can gather lots of information. Yes.. this is a very interesting topic.

I choose both its too difficult to choose 1 because they both mean so much to me. Christmas is was jesus was born & New Year's Day is a beginning of a new Year. Since i've been down south for a few yrs. it feels good when it snows so it does feel like Christmas. Orginally from ny so i've been through the snow and bad weather for many yrs. As you get older well this is for most people Christmas doesn't feel the same cause once you grow & get wiser you know the true meaning & know for a fact that its not all about gifts its the day Jesus was born.

For me they both share some significance of importance. I know that personally anymore New Years is really a time of reflection to be able to look ahead upon the New upcoming yr. and to be able to see the past yr. and be able to reflect and decide on and Pray about what exciting things you would like to see happen and accomplish in the coming yr. Not as in New Year's resolutions per say, but a time to talk with god and share with him your goals and dreams and allow him to move as he sees fit.

We don't celebrate Christmas or New Year really. There isn't anything to celebrate. This year with Christmas I will be in Africa again, a place where it's warm. Same with New Year. New Year is mostly just the time (1 or 2 days later) we realize an other year starts and nothing has changed at all.
