We bought a second-hand car. Is it okay if I still let a priest bless it even if it is only a second-hand car?
Sorry my question is so shallow, I just want people's opinion on this.

Great I love giving opinions even if they are wrong. Instead of asking a priest get hold of one of those old Saint Chrisofords that sit on the dash. My parents had one and when I asked asked them, they told me it was for protection but maybe it was for making sure you miss the pot holes in the road so your car wouldn't break.

There's no right or wrong opinion, and I appreciate your response. Thanks.

Thank you for responding and stating that. The comment was just a silly joke perhaps. I hope you do well with your purchase and feel good about all your decisions. What I really was trying to say was God helps those that help themselves and I think if you are careful with your car so to maintain it properly it may serve you well. I have always been kind to mine, gave the car a name and they made it through, though I had to decide sometimes what to spend on them, when and how much. Not always easy sometimes because when they get really old you have to end the relationship.

If it is a secondhand car that is more of a reason for it to be blessed if you ask me.

I think nothing will stop you if that's what you feel will give you peace of mind, in fact i see nothing wrong with having to bless just about anything or what we Christians call " praying over". The ritual as some believe will give them protecton from above and for me it's also a good way to thank god for the blessing even if it's just a second hand car considering the financial difficulties we all are facing right now, good luck and stay safe in your new car

Well, I think second car is good option in this economic downturn era. I also bought second hand car but it's build up with still good quality. Rather than new car but made locally which more expensive but not long lasting. We should blessed everything we have and enjoy using it.

The blessing has a positive effect like every other positiv thought.
I'm sure it may prevent some accidents or problems.
Your responsibility is to take the car for checkings often at the garage to avoid surprises. Don't forget to check the water and oil.
I really don't like having a 2nd hand car , I prefer a new and expansive car instead of all the pain of taking it to get fixed , it really wastes a lot of time. sometimes I wait in the garage 3 or 4 hours because I don't have how to get to home.
Twice a month on average , because we have 2 old cars.
