Checking my best responses in my profile!

I was thinking about exploring mylot a bit more and I started with my profile. I started checking my best responses and I've got a surprise. I have six pages of best responses. I didn't know that I had so many so far and I started reading them.
What is more interesting is that I cannot believe it that I was capable of writing such responses. I don't want to sound like being arrogant or something, but this is the feeling I've got when reading many of them.
Do you have this strange feeling also, when reading your best responses, especially if those responses were written some time ago?

It is interesting to look at our past responses especially those that has received BRs. For my 5 years of stay in my lot I've so far received 128 pages of best responses. When I checked back on my responses that earned BRs, I smile and wonder what the OP saw in my response that deserved the BR.

So you feel the same as I do, you are very surprised to review your BRs also and the content of it. I feel very strange especially at older ones, because I don't really remember them, and I am very surprised to read things which I never imagined that I could right so well.

You have to give your best to respond as meaningful as you can to other discussions and if the discussion opener will decide that you have done the best job, will select your response as the best.

You do that, give your feedback as often as you can, trying to add meaningful content to the discussions.
And to answer your question, the best response is selected by the opener of the discussion, not by the admin.

Yea I have the same feelings. Once I remember checking my email recently and I had a message from mylot stating someone has chosen my response as best response and when I read it, I wanted to go to my other "best response" page and I had a few of them. But wow, I don't have six pages just a few. After, I decided to re-read but I do kind of remember when and what I wrote in my message even after a few years.

You have a great memory, then. I have read a best response I wrote a year ago, it was like somebody else has written it, but I could identify with it totally.
This happens because I don't consider myself a good speaker or writer, and usually I have difficulties in expressing myself even in my mother tongue, not to mention the foreign languages. This is why I have this contradictory feeling.

I guess the self esteem is very important in real life also, so if mylot can add something to this, I will gladly take it.

Now that you had mentioned it, I am being curious about how much best response I got up to now..

Uhm, only 3 pages 
. Well, not really bad for three-months-old member, I think..
Rather that BR, I am being more curious with "my interest ranks". Somehow it is related to my star *because it also being calculated from contribution [(+)(-)]*, and hence it might related with my earning.. :)

You are pretty active if in 3 months time you have made so many responses, which are shown in the brackets next to your username.
And yes, you reputation and rankings influence your earnings a lot, in fact, I think they are some coefficients.

Yeah, I tried to be as active as possible for these 3 months. Fortunately, I was having a long enough holiday, so I can be active here as well.
And I guess I already confirmed that fact 
. At first, when I have no star or low ranking, I got very less earning. And right now, my earning nowadays is better than my earning three months ago.. :)

I have noticed this two. Not to mention that I was not active at all at the beginning, as I didn't know what to do here.
But now I am pretty satisfied with my earnings, although I haven't received the earnings for the last two days yet. Did this happen to you also?

Wow I'm so excited I found this discussion. It made me go look how many best responses I had. After paging back and back and back, I have 192 pages!!! I've been on mylot for 5 years though. I'm kind of proud of myself for having so many. I'd like to think that my advice and input on people's discussions is worth something.

When I read that you have 192 pages, the 6 pages I have seem nothing, but I am very proud that I have helped with those responses also.

Good for you ,rappeter . I just checked my profile .Sadly , my best responses is less than one page . It doesn't surprise me . First , i didn't log in mylot and communicate with other mylotters . Second , i am not talktive neither in realiy nor in virtual world . But i believe i will be better and get more and more best responses as long as i keep communicating with other cyber-friends .
It is really worthy of being proud to have a plenty of best responses .Because they represent affirmation to you .I hope i can do it someday .

It doesn't matter how many pages of Best responses you have, it matters how did you feel when received them.
I am not a talkative person neither, so it is a surprise for me that I've even got one. Sometimes I want to share so much, but cannot find the proper words. I guess since I am an active member here, I've got more coherency, but only in writing.
I certainly hope that you will get a few more best responses.

Yes, i was equally surprised when i look at my past best responds, i didn't know i'm capable of writing such stuffs, and it really took me by surprise. Looking back, i wonder what overcame me, prompt me to respond so well, which i think i can never do. While when i'm expecting to receive the best response, it will never come to me. It's irony right? What we think is our best, doesn't seem so to the others.

I think we can give our best when the subject is so good, that it touches our "heart". I think then we can express us better and the person who reads the answer feels that we have put something more beyond those words.
And there is another factor, that we are all different and we have a different point of view. I think if we write a contrary response to the belief of the person who started the discussion, even if our response is meaningful, we won't receive the best response.

Yes, I am also convinced that the number of positive feedback which a user receives, the "+" signs and the best responses have a great influence on our star and reputation, and this way, on our earnings too.

Check your profile and you will find out. But whenever somebody gets a Best Response, you should get a notification email from mylot.
Anyways, I wish you to receive a lot of them, because it is a great feeling and I guess it influences you reputation also, and reputation influences your earnings also.

hm..the strange feeling is the bragging rights i guess that you have been marked as the best respondent.
sometimes i feel that too lol! though i only had 3 marked best responses.
but i know it's more on you feel important and you feel very appreciated.
i love being marked as the best response cause it gives me those feeling.

I am talking about the best responses here, which are credited by the person who started the discussion.
But of course, it is good to read others responses also, this way you have more points of view and you will learn more. There are times when a response is more interesting than the topic, so it can be furthered a lot.
