They are cute! I would only take rescue cats in now. When I had gotten my Ginger cat I knew nothing about rescues; I learned about them from the outdoor cats later.

My first cat was a "free kitten" and she was black, from a litter of 6 black kittens, 5 females - the male already had a home.
Everyone after that have been rescues of some kind, Flirt was a stray, Silver was from the shelter, a whole lot of them I have picked up.
Rygel, the big cat in my avatar, I followed his mother home and they said she had 4 kittens and they were tired of her.
I told them I would take them.
"Which one?" they asked.
"I'll take them all," I answered and I found homes for all and we decided to keep Rygel because he's so good with kittens.

My Ginger had been a "free" kitten - five weeks old when I took him. I did it because I knew if he stayed with the bail bondsman - whose mouser got pregnant - he would be let out in the alley to roam once he was weaned. Better safe with me than having him become an alley cat, impregnating all the female alley cats!
That is cool that you took all the kittens and found good homes. I have a friend in Oregon who does the same.

they are fairly settled by now....Rook sometimes gets a look of nostalgia...but Stormy Blue had such little time at the old place - most of what he would remember would be stacks of boxes...and boxes...wait! they are still here! the stacks of boxes! have you ever noticed it's easier to pack than unpack?

your dear husband sounds like mine - what is it about some men who just don't look where they step? Now, his excuse is he's 78 years old...yet he's been like that ever since we met - right before he turned fifty. I feel like his guide dog sometimes! Our cat, Stormy, now blends in the the grey carpeting on the stairs so that makes it worse.

I didn't see your previous discussion, but I saw your post and wanted to see the photo of your two rescue cats.
What gorgeous cats.. a very pretty grey and a black and white, much like one of ours. I left a comment with your photo.
How old are they?
Both my cats are recued cats too. they are now aged 9 and 11.
You will get a lot of love from these two cats.
Love the names too.

Rook - aka the Rookster, or "bubby boo" is nearly five. Stormy Blue would be about a year old now. Stormy (little poo)was but a kitten when he started showing up with the couple of feral/strays a former neighbor and I feed (Neither of us live inthat hood now, yet we continue feeding them). He wouldn't let anyone near him - he was terrified of people. We had to put out food for him, then go around the corner and watch him emerge from under the permanently parked car and go eat. After two months of doing this, one day - I was coming closer and closer each day - he came over to me and put his little paws on my knees and looked up in my eyes. From then on, we were able to pet him a bit, then more, till finally I knew I had to bring him in. He didn't belong in the streets. Took some doing, but finally we got him to the SPCA for neutering and shots. I'd like to think I have room for one more rescue now that we are in a house. Rook we got from Cat Rescue of maryland when he was five months old, after my beloved Ginger passed away.

First off, welcome to MyLot, timetravel.
They are very pretty cats! Good for you for rescuing them and giving them a home. We have had a few that we rescued from time to time, though they were usually outside cats, barn cats, etc. but they always seem to disappear. We have way too many predators where we live I guess.

that's why my cats are all indoors, although one of my friends, who lives in Oregon, sometimes adopts cats out to those who need barn cats. Occasionally, when a barn cat goes missing, it is usually a predator. Jody tries not to adopt barn cats out in known predator areas, but it can't always be helped.
