Have you ever been stuck in the elevator?

Yesterday, one of the elevators in our building got busted and people were stuck between two floors 15th and 16th. There were 10 people inside a 20 people-capacity elevator. They were there for roughly 15minutes and people started to complain. I have never been in that situation, and I hope I never have to be. But if you were there or if you were, how was that like? Did your life flash in front of you? hahaha.. Whew! How was it? or what would you have done?

No I never have been stuck in an elevator and I think I wouldn't be happy being stuck. I would be terrified. I have problems of staying in a small room, I feel suffocated and elevator is surely not that big. I do also feel suffocated even only when there are many people in. I would surely hate to be stuck in.

Whew! Being stuck has its setbacks, all the more if it happens more than once! hahahaha.. Glad that you didn't panic. By the way, naim, how long did it take before the power went back?!

One time and it was one time too many. And it was for about twenty minutes but it might have been twenty hours. It wouldn't be so bad if there was not so crowded and cramped in that small space. That was the absolute worse with eight people in that small space. One of them the most talkative person in the world, who just wouldn't shut up. So yes it did really seem much longer than it really was. I don't know about my life flashing in front of me. But it was rather uncomfortable to say the very least. I was rather cramped and that is the worst situation. That is why most times I take the stairs. Plus, hey, I can always use the exercise. Still the elevator is quicker and its not like this situation is going to occur that often.

Oh yeah, stuck with someone who can't seem to shut up makes the wait much longer. Hehehehe.. Thinking about being crowded would certainly be something that would make someone very uncomfortable. For sure I would hate it if I were to be stuck in the elevator in our building or at work, most of the times, those elevators are full! Thank you very much for sharing!

Thankfully, I've never been stuck in an elevator. I'm glad that I've never been in that situation. I definitely hope that it doesn't. It's just one of those situations that I don't want to find myself in.

Elevators always give me the creeps, for this reason alone. -lol- I have never had this happen to me and I go into them but I would surely freak out if I would ever get stuck in one. -lol-

Whoah a whole 20 minutes? That could be a long time for someone who is claustrophobic. What did you guys do for the whole 20 minutes stuck inside?

No, neither have I ever experienced this thing in my life at all and never would I ever wish going through it at all. If ever it would, I will just sit quietly and hope that rescue would come fast and quick. Yes, I will surely be praying if I have some moments for myself. I surmise that if there will be a good number of people trapped, there will be lots of activity which will be taking place. Like people complaining and doing whatever and some might even be panicky. When something like this happens, it is best to keep one's cool self and use the cellphone to contact someone else within the building to make known about having been trapped in the elevator. That way, rescue will come faster and everyone trapped would have conserved their energy rather than use it up for senseless bantering.

While feeling sorry for those people stuck in the elevator, I am lucky not to have got such an unwanted experience. I wish not to get a single similar experience at all. It is hard to imagine how worried I would be in such a situation. Have a good day, laydee.

This is one of the scariest thing that will happen to me if ever. Usually when I go to work I am always alone riding the elevator. Since I worked with graveyard shift, it is seldom that there are other people using the elevator. So most of the time, I am always alone riding up to 14th floor and I never look at my sides either since it's all mirror (yayyy) I just can't imagine myself being stuck inside the elevator all alone in the wee hours and with all the mirrors surrounding me...

I have been trapped in one. I was in polytechnic when it happened. There were 3 other people with me and come to think of it, I think if I had been alone I would have panicked. Luckily one of the men tried prying open the door. It opened, we all went out and I climbed a few floors up, not wanting to be trapped again. Although it was a very short while, it was quite frightening. A few thoughts crossed my mind. I was holding some food and the first was, 'O no I would have to share this.'

I was stuck once between floors in s small, apartment-building elevator. It was a good experience for my health because I use the stairs more often now :D

No, and I swear I wouldn't want this to happen to me! I have this fear of closed areas. One time, my bestfriend pulled a prank on me and locked me inside her closet. I cried sitting on the floor like a 5 year old! :))
