Grandmothers and Grand daughters

I visited my grandma from my mother's side today and it was undeniable how happy she was when she saw me and my sister. She is rather sick lately and she's being grumpy on our aunt and her care givers, but when she saw us her mood changed and she had a smile on. It's like grand daughters have magic powers that makes her feel better. I can't believe how a simple kiss and a hug could lighten my grandma's burden. My other grandma is still pretty much active and like grandma 1 she is also happy when we visit her. She's proud of having us around and she introduces us to all her friends. She is usually very strict, but with me and my sister she's very easy to get along with. I wonder why grandmas have more soft spots for their grand children than their children? Have you visited or seen your grandma lately? How do you show to your grand parents that you love them?

My Grandma is sick also and we visited her Sunday. Like your Grandma, mine just lit up with a huge smile when she seen us. She even played with my son for a while. It was nice seeing her have fun and smile. A few years ago she was in the hospital and when I went to see her it was like a spark lit inside of her and she instantly felt better when she seen me. I think being around family just warms the soul and brightens peoples day. I have read years ago that people who regularly visit with family actually live longer lives and are more happy. I think that is wonderful that you visit your grandmothers!

I like your statement about family warming the soul. I think that is really so true. That's why even when a person becomes so rich, famous, and successful they will still willingly give up all for family.

Yeah, I feel the same with you.. My grandma is more than 70 years old.. Now I have married and life in my own house. if I come to her house, I can see in her face that she's very happy and I can see her smile.. Some month ago, I've got my first children. What do you call it? In my country they're called "BUYUT". the son of the grand children.. When my grandma see my son, i can see the different smile on her face. I think she's more happy and always smile. she always care about my son rather than me! So, i think why do grandmas have a more love to their grandchildren, because they're happy to see her next generation...

In our country we call "buyut" as " apo sa tuhod" and a normal grandchild as plain "apo". I hope my grandmas could live up to the time I have family and kids too. I think my kids will love my granny and my granny will of course love my kids.

This is really a soft side of our grand parents. The fruit of their love is their children and the fruit of their children is US the grand children. They will really be glad and happy to see those cute little faces of their grand children that resembles their children back before. That is why they are really happy and glad. Every christmas and new year we have a reunion and all my grandparents are happy to see us, they even gave us small gifts like chocolates, books and toys. When they visit us or we will visit them, I read stories to my grandma and grandpa about my composed stories and they will just laugh and smile.

Well I think that's a very good reason on the "soft side thing". I can see that your grandparents love you so much and it's pretty obvious that the feeling is mutual. Btw, what sorts of stories do you write? Hehehe.
