I got braces before. I had them for 3 years or more. It sucks. I hated it. It was really hard to eat anything at first, and the inside of your lips will be full of scratches because of the scratchy surface of the braces. But you will get used to it. You should go to the dentist and see if you really have to wear braces. Maybe your friends think that your teeth are already good, that's why they are against it. The hard part is you have to wear retainers after you had braces. There are two kinds of retainers: the temporary and permanent. The temporary retainers can be easily removed if you are gong to eat. The permanent is permanently glued to the backside of your teeth like braces but does not have brackets. I have permanent retainers and it's better than the temporary one. Some dentist say that the permanent retainers should be there forever. Some dentist say that it can be removed after a couple of years or more.
