Surveys : do you speak the truth ?

India

I am often get survey requests and most of the time I am disqualified while my friend successfully completes most of them . When I inquired her why I am not able to but she is so successful I was aghast to hear her saying that she often writes false there . She says that initially she wrote all true and many times she was screened out . Then she started giving false views understanding the 'pulse' of the survey and never lost her market points . But somehow I am not able to agree with her proposition . I still try to express my real views as far as possible no matter what points I get . What are your experiences friend ? Please share .

I can understand your logic . It depends on the person concerned . You have no hand in other's work . Thanks for a response dingjia

Hi dingjia you did not understand what I said . You tried to help your friend and in the process you distributed the tables to your other friends . If they faked it is upto them . You did not have a hand in that . Hope I am clear . God bless you !

Yes sometimes you have to say two or three other things than what is true.Or else for us Indians it is very difficult to take most surveys successfully.I will give you an example.I took a survey recently for laptop/printer purchase intenders. Now it is true that I wish to purchase a laptop since I own a desktop but that might not materialize within the next 3 months. Now the target group that the survey was looking for was people who wanted to purchase a laptop or printer within the next 3 months. Now even if my answer is yes I am not too sure that I will be able to shell put the money within the next three months but yes it might be possible for me to buy a laptop within the next six months. However I still answered that yes I intended to purchase within the next three months since it is obviously a wish in my mind. Now if you call that lying or manipulating, yes that it.But if you are 100% truthful in all surveys, you will probable never get to clear them successfully. If you are screened out every time then you will only be wasting a lot of time that you could have devoted elsewhere. In that case it is better for Indians not to even try to do survey sites. For sites like AIPsurveys you have to be 100% truthful or you risk losing your account for false responses. So it all depends.Being a veteran in doing surveys by now,I have figured out the loopholes and strategies now.Only Globaltestmarket would give you 5 market points every time you are screened out.rest will just screen you out without any reward. It is difficult for us on this side of the globe as there are only a handful of paying survey sites for us and we have to know the tricks of the trade to do well.

Thanks oindy for your response . The situation you stated is quite acceptable to that point and I am also taking surveys for quite sometimes . But gross indiscretion is neither desirable nor reasonable . What my friend said is quite shocking and I would better lose money than go to the pont of debasing myself

I think it important always to tell the truth in a relationship, particularly a personal relatioinship. I think we get into relationships to learn about life and what it is to be responsible of another and others. When two people are close, if a lie comes into the relationship that the relationship will become a little less intimate and close. It is not easy however, to tell absolute truth, but is possible as I have found out. _Derek

I do tell the truth but it does disqualify my quite frequently. I try but it does not like me being honest. I am honest but does not work out sometimes.

I am like you. I can't be untruthful...I'd feel guilty especially if someone was paying me and no matter how little the amount. I say stick with your own feelings of right and wrong...

I had been to many survey sites before. I earned a lot with these survey sites. But not anymore, because they become strict about the members. they don't allow non - US members to join. I earned around five dollars everyday in one site and I was really happy. At first, I was disqualified because I don't met the criteria they were looking for. I learned my lesson, since then I answer differently. Not about everything, only in age, my household income (sometimes they accept you if you have higher income). But for the whole survey, I try to enjoy every question and answer them properly. I especially love surveys about movies and name branding of a new product.

I agree with you.I am a non-US member too.A little here and there regarding income etc does not matter.Or else what are we wasting our time for?

I do surveys almost every day some times I won't qualify...because of age or demographic conditions...but one thing is for sure I never lie! besides most surveys companies will check on you for accuracy on your responses and if you are cought cheating you will lose your money and your reputation as well! so no to me I prefer to be honest otherwise I would not be doing surveys.

For biographical things I always speak the truth. Now other things, when I do take the surveys, I don't lie as much as i interpret things for a different manner. Of course, it really doesn't matter, because getting the right kind of criteria for any individual survey is an exercise of the greatest frustration when you really think about it. Plus in the end, I think that surveys are just something that overall are a waste of time. Sure, there is a chance to earn money. But in the time you take trying to qualify for surveys, but you keep seeing, "sorry you are not qualified" or "sorry we've reached the amount of people in your demographic". Some survey sites are rather picky beyond all belief.
